Default Vote to save observation

Just an observation about 'votes to save', and comparing them to online polls.

As most of you probably noticed, David was the HM that was at the bottom of most of the online polls (not all but most). Similar thing happened on week one with Sree, who was mostly at the bottom of the online save-vote polls...

Hira got evicted, yet she did well in the online polls. Exactly same thing with Beinazir on week 1, doing well on polls but getting evicted anyway.

Why do people think this is?

My theory is that it has a lot to do with multiple votes. You can vote multiple times for multiple HMs in the real voting, but can only vote once, for just one HM in the online polls. I also think it may have a lot to do with assuming somebody will be safe when infact they're not, so not voting as a result.

What do people think?

I think that vote to save would have worked perfectly well if people had simply voted for their favourite.

There were several people on this board who boasted that they were going to place dozens of votes for Lisa and David to ensure that Bea went.

In a close run vote, those - maybe 200 votes, may well have been what led to that result.

It's simple really.

The problem is not with the system, it's with people thinking that they can beat it.

The only way it could be fair would be if it was one man (or woman) one vote, but like you say, people vote over and over and sometimes tactically. It makes it about as fair as an election in Zimbabwe.

Yeah, I think they should stick to vote to evict as it is much simpler and leads to a fairer result.

I am kinda glad Hira went, but she didn't deserve to go. Bea did. And if it was a vote to evict Bea would have gone. Well, Bea or Lisa. I don't mind Lisa too much, but I think Bea is a bitch.

One other point you have overlooked is that the people who use the forums are dedicated BB fans, a lot of whom will watch a dair amount of live feed and see unskewed(non edited) footage.

There is a fair number of people who will only watch HL shows, which we have seen can be slanted to favour certain housemates, and form their opinion from that.

Put it this way:

I've voted every week in online polls but only phoned in and officially voted twice this series. I'm sure this is the case with many others too. Plus, online polls are only representing the minority - only about 5000 votes were cast on TIBB's poll - I know voting numbers have decreased over the years, but I would imagine BB are getting an awful lot more votes than that.

I think Hira was robbed!

Such a nice girl and all those nasties are still in there because of eviction manipulation by BB

As soon as I saw it was vote to save I was certain it would be Hira... just not enough substance there to vote to save.

Great girl though... nice I mean.
