Default Bars: Solution in housemates hands...

I think it is obvious to all of us that the rich/poor divide is unpopular with the public and the housemates.

However, the housemates have done as they are told, and obeyed up to now.

Thing is, though, that they don't have to. Two housemates have already walked out, Lee threatened to do so if not evicted, and others have mumbled similar things.

Spencer and Kate got a "strike" for open defiance, but if the housemates had a "leader" and enough bottle to openly defy the bars, they could not throw them all out. They just would not have a show.

If the housemates stopped bitching about each other, and discussed things, they could come to this conclusion. Until the housemates realise this, it is their own fault!

I thought this from the moment the bars appeared!

If they ALL constantly cross the bars, pass food to each othet etc, BB cant chuck them all out!

They must be sooooo stupid!

I was thinking Spencer was going to take this case up, but seem's to have gone soft since his strike. didnt he and Pj say the other day they were going to raid the other side for food. When are we going to see the action and not the words.

As much as I HATE those stupid bars, I don't want anarchy in the house!

Can you imagine if the housemates just refused to do anything BB said? It would completely ruin the show and C4 probably wouldn't re-commission it!

We don't want that surely!!!!!!!!!

I am not so sure it would not be a good idea if Ch4 did reliquish the rights to BB. We might see BBC2 take it on knowing that with their expertise and Endemols exprience something like BB1 and 2 might result.........................

I'm not sure outright anarchy would be a good idea but I'm certainly open to a tactic of negotiation with BB. I think there are lots of ways the housemates could get BB to see the error of their ways if they got their heads together and talked it through.

BB doesn't want so much unhappiness that they start leaving (especially after two have already walked) - it's really bad PR and does not show BB in a good light. It was always one of BB's stated aims that they wanted to look after the housemates and ensure they were happy and if they got together as a group and told BB in a serious way how unhappy they were with the split house and that other housemates are seriously considering leaving, maybe BB would look at the situation again.

There have been various polls issued in the last few days and the overwhelming popular vote has been that the house split is a disaster. Sooner or later, BB surely must take public opinion into account - it is, after all, the public who are watching this and they may vote with the off switch!

I totaly agree with suseq comments.
I'm sure they would have to take notice if they all went in to talk to BB.

The problem is their's no leader with any common sense, the other bb's had Craig and Dean, these lot havent, Spencer's not showing any leadership, I had hope's, now their dashed after his stupid imature escapade with Kate tonight.

Maybe the new bloke will have some. I havent been watching so will have to wait and see if I can be bothered. I'm getting to the who care's stage with the lot of them now. There's more interesting things going on in life.I'm only watching because I enjoy posting on here and reading what people have to say, If I didnt watch I'd have to go else where.maybe I'm getting to old for this series of bb

You talk alot of sense Susieq.
The house needs someone with some common sense and enough balls to bring the housemates together and negotiate maturely. The trouble is, that apart from Spence there is no one else daring enough to question BB. Unfortunately Spence can be quite selfish alot of the time and although tends to have cool ideas never has enough umph to actually impliment them. He did try and rally the housemates on the poorside this week to get together and go to the richside to steal food when they get desperate, and that still just might happen, you never know if needs must and all that! If Alex and Adele had still been with him there would have been no chance of this..but the new lot are more of a team and might just do it...we'll have to watch this space as they say?
So far with this week Big Bro' has plied them all with a Pizza treat , the generous gesture of tobacco and papers included in the rations, plus tonights Indian meal, so it hasn't been necessaryt to draw up a plan yet..but as food becomes scarce and more boring and unsatisfying by the middle of the week, and there is nothing to do, then maybe they will rebel even if ends up being for fun and to inject some life into the proceedings.... I too wouldn't want to see all out anarchy but a little breakout wouldn't harm, and would make hilarious viewing. Strikes would be inevitable, but worth it I think. Spence and Katie would have to be very careful afterwards though, because they would both be on their way to a third strike and ultimately out the door. I somehow think that Big Bro' would not want that, so might give out little tasks throughout the week with rewards to ensure enough food is available and stealing does not become an option.
I am a bit happier about the programme now. The weekend has brought much more of the BB that I want to watch. I would like to see "THE BARS BANISHED!" but at least the events that have taken place lately have been a little more interesting and less depressing than that of the past few weeks.
Come on Big Bro' "BANISH THE BARS!"
