Truly clever people don't need to keep telling others how clever they are all the time! Remember - he also told how he could sing - apparantly was in a choir or something, somewhere!!

Anyone can be good at making observations if they spend as much time as him making them!! If constantly observing and analysizing everything going on in the house isn't a game plan - I don't know what is!!

I know they all have 'game plans' - name of the game and all that - but why does he keep insisting that he doesn't! That in itself - creates doubts!!
