Default question about BBUS

I havent watched BBUS since season 5.
Ive just started watching BBUS11. & when I was watching the "Launch" show i was saying to myself
why is BB in the states still popular. Its nothing like the UK or AU series, so maybe thats why I just stopped watching the US series. The 3? "main" shows a week I guess I can handle. It would be better if they did as all the other BBs ive seen and actually have a "daily" show. & with their version of "Live Feed" thats on Showtime its ok n all but why have the Live feed as part of the um....a main source of the House/HMs on tv.
It also seems to me anyways that its more scripted than all the others ive seen. CBS basically manipulates how the house/HMs play the game.

Ive even started watching BBDE recently and even tho I cant understand much it seems that they are more informative with having a daily show 6 days a week

so ya I guess my question is why is it still popular n such. When everything that happens in what 2-3 days gets butchered/cut & pasted into a 45min show

if you like BBUS cool n such not putting anyone down for liking it & all. I am seriously just wondering =)

It still is popular because it fits well to the competitive type of shows American channels broadcast and what American people like to watch. I don't think they could handle daily shows like they used to in BB1.
We can also compare this to Survivor which is more strategy focussed than real surviving in the middle of nowhere.

I see what you're saying, we never know what events happened at what time. I wish they could show the scenes in a chronological order and not on their will which is frustrating. I also wish they'd put the day and the time so we wouldn't get lost. And please get rid of this cheesy songs !

I think that's what turns a lot of UK viewers of our Big Brother show, the differences.

Any reasoning is pure speculation and I do have my own.

The three day a week format might make it more popular because it is less of a commitment for one.

The competitive nature of the show means tempers are always running hot which makes for great TV.

Also, it has a HUGE following ever since it started... hell it's like the Godfather of reality TV at this point.

As someone who started watching Big Brother in the states and then started getting interested in BBUK I understand how the differences make it something you need to get used to. In the end I find them both entertaining in their own way.
