TERRIFIED Kate Price is on red alert after *becoming the target of a Spanish kidnap plot.

The millionaire glamour girl is turning to cage-fighter boyfriend Alex Reid for *protection after a Mafia bid to snatch her in *Marbella.

Russian gangsters are said to be planning to grab the loaded babe – worth £30million – when she flies out to promote her KP Equestrian range in the celeb hotspot.

A ring of steel will be thrown around Kate, 31, *after The Daily Star alerted her to the threat.

On top of mass security the scared businesswoman and mum of three is also *expected to turn to tough guy Reid, 34, for protection.

A source said: “The kidnap threat is a real worry and Kate feels much safer when Alex is around. He is a muscular man and a trained fighter who can watch her back at all times.

“Kate’s a tough woman but this is bound to really frighten her and convince her to take her *boyfriend along for support.

“She will definitely feel much better having him on hand to *double up as a bodyguard and scare off the mobsters.”

Kate is 12th in The Sunday Times young person Rich List *after amassing a fortune *modelling, writing books, designing clothes and endorsing a string of products.

Her money and high profile make her a top objective for gangsters. She has even boasted she is approaching billionaire status, making her an even more luring target.

Mobsters are said to be plotting to snatch Kate while she is in Marbella and whisk her off into the Med on a yacht.

They have been studying pictures of her cavorting on easy-to-reach beaches in Ibiza while shooting her calendar, where she could be vulnerable.

Kate would be the latest in a long line of high-profile victims snatched in the millionaires’ playground to try to *extort cash.

Earlier this year Russian *mobsters kidnapped the wife and *daughter of a businessman and demanded a £1.7million ransom. A source said: “These gangs are ruthless and will stop at nothing to earn a few bob.

“Kate has a lot of money and taking someone so high-profile would also boost their bragging rights, so she can’t take any *chances.”

Kate is *determined to complete her work in Spain. But her spokesman hinted the trip could be axed if the threat got worse.

He added: “Kate would not make any trip unless she and the people around her felt 100% sure of her *security.”
