Btw why do people always add "gate" at the end. What does it mean.

^ in the uk an important scandal has "-gate" added, like when noirin was pissed about the rabbit comment people called it Rabbitgate

The original was called Watergate. It was some historical,political scandal that I can't remember anything about cos I havn't studied History in like 2 years.

Its been adopted into common English to mean shock or scandal, initial used to refer to a scandal and cover up, from "Watergate" - the cover up by Richard Nixon's administration of the break in and bugging of the Democrats Headquarters. Wasnt so much the break in that lead to Nixons resignation as the bodged cover up.

You're partly right but I think it's mainly used for scandals that AREN'T that important
