Hope all goes well.. Any training programs they have then take it, and with the interview you just gotta sell yourself, be the best and win!

Don't let me down..

Good luck! But just a tip, don't be too serious in the interview. If you just sit there being corporate giving perfect answers and what they want to hear, they'll get bored and you will just be another candidate rather than sticking out. Just be you, throw in jokes if necessary (e.g. if they ask why you want the job, at first reply with something like "I'll be cheaper than older people") then go on with your proper answer. If you make mistakes or bluff what you're saying it doesn't really matter if you come across well, it'll make you stand out.

Do not listen to Tom. If you came out with that answer I would put a big black mark on your application.

Yep, just ignore 18 months of working in recruitment and knowing what works and what doesn't

Being corporate and perfect does not work because it makes you forgettable. Employers want real people, not robots who can churn out correct answer after correct answer.

But you need to assess the situation properly and do it where appropriate

well don't assume that I don't and that i'm giving out bad advice just because you've obviously done things differently. but my point is that if i had a quid for every interview I've been in where the candidate has been perfect and sat there serious, giving great answers (along with the gem "I'm honest, motivated and hard working"), I wouldn't have had to work because I could buy the company. They all merge into one

My reply was tongue in cheek (which I thought was obvious from the video) and I was giving an opinion. My opinion. No need to make it sound like I was rubbishing what you said. I am talking from my experience and as you say to me "just ignore 18 months of working in recruitment and knowing what works and what doesn't" then please don't ignore my "21 years experience from working in the cut throat world of the fashion industry".

I work on Produce now.

I've applied for 3 of the Team Leader roles... if they say I have the job, I will either be on Dairy, Meat & Poultry. Non Food (which will be Healthy & Beauty or Electrical and Home and Ware) or Counters (fresh hams, cooked chickens, fish etc) as a Team Leader

Yeah it's a great job chance and £8.70 an hour is top notch!

If I don't get it it's not the end of the world... I will be the youngest Team Leader my store has ever had (I'm 18) and next time I will be more prepared and understand the interview more. I just really want it, I know I can do the job as I have been acting Team Leader on Produce in my Team Leaders absence.
