Default BBUK could take the BBUSA Format

This is not wishful thinking but i seriously think that ITV would be interested in BBUK using the BBUSA format
After all they did produce there own version of Survivor

and if you were ITV, where would you schedule Big Brother bearing in mind ITV air other things at 9pm, and have the news at 10pm.

So as well as taking the actual format they take the editorial format too? BBUK under the exact USA format would flop over here

There is a reason why I am Canadian and spent months downloading and hunting down live streams of BBUK. I would rather BBUK die then be kept alive like BBUS.

BB US is poop.

ITV will not touch it ever. They are cutting back themselves too. Plus they have better things with the 9pm slot too. Channel 4 have axed it for a reason, that reason will not change if ITV take over it.

The US Version sucks. Too much strategy talk and this head of house crap or whatever.

There's nothing good about the BB USA format.

Three HL shows per week, mostly scripted activities and scripted diary room sessions.

Although there is $500,000 in prize money, it is not technically a game show (it's categorized as a soap opera) allowing the producers to heavily manipulate the show while sidestepping FCC rules. The only thing approaching real is the live feeds, and even those get blocked when the producers don't want the public to see or hear certain things.

Sadly, ratings are UP, meaning BB USA will continue the charade indefinitely.

I'm not quite sure where you get your information, but it severely flawed. First of all, BB USA is NOT categorized as a soap opera. In the US, soap operas aren't even the same as they are here so clearly you have that wrong. Second of all, there is 24 hour live feed. Third, the show is no more scripted than the UK one.

Here are the differences between the two:

1. More prize money - With the exchange rate about 300,000 GBP. But US shows generally have higher prize amounts than UK shows.

2. It is more housemate driven. There is no public vote and no Big Brother who talks to them.

3. The food is done differently. There is a food task each week. If they fail the food task, they are only given slop, which is pretty disgusting. They don't get lentils and rice if they lose like on UK BB... just nasty slop all week.

4. The competitions keep going until there are 2 left. The final vote is only between 2 people and is done by those who have been evicted.

5. The format is as follows - At the beginning of each week, there is a competition to determine who is the head of household. The HoH decides on 2 people to put up for eviction. A couple of days later, there is a Power of Veto competition. The only ones who are allowed to compete are the HOH, 2 nominated people, and 2 wildcards chosen randomly. Whoever wins the PoV can (but doesn't have to) save one of the people who are nominated. If they do, then the HoH chooses someone else. At the end of the week, the housemates vote for who they want evicted.

Though I enjoy BB UK, I personally find BB US to be more interesting. There is more conflict and strategizing going on rather than people just sitting around bitching about who had an extra can of cider.

Big Brother on a channel like ITV would never be as good.

They'd probably take away anything deemed "unacceptable" so that all we are left with is the HM's discussing the latest Harry Potter books.

In other words, it would be a flop.

Not necessarily. After all, it is going to be on a different network, so it would already have some differences. And even on C4, each season is slightly different than the rest. Like the ability to talk about noms this season.

However, I think the one thing that might make it not work is the lack of a public vote.

sadly enough BBUS has had the rating average of 6.94m this year so far and on tuesday got 7.98m

Something is working with that format fellas plus with their 4 cam 24/7 feeds and flashbacks

The soap opera categorization was discussed ad nauseum early on. Check the archives at jam.canoe.ca's BB pages. It gives the producers the ability to manipulate the game without breaking FCC game show rules.

The 24/7 live feed exists, but it's not live 24/7. The feed goes to a shot of the fish tank whenever houseguests discuss production, diary room sessions, results of games, etc. Most competitions are blocked from the feeds as well.

It has also been discussed in the past (caught on live feed before being blocked) that producers have given HG's scripts for the diary room sessions, have coached them on what to say and how to react.
