Default Charlie's coma mum

Right I just want people to help clarify some things for me.

1) He wants to win to help his mothers recovery? Can some one who has experience of coma's or medical knowledge explain what he can do. And buy a huge alarm clock doesn't count.

2) Won't her care be covered by the NHS?

I'm sure 100 000 grand for private care or something would be helpful i'm just wondering how helpful, because a person in a coma needs doesn't need "treatment" it's more about care and talking to them etc isn't it?

I'm not his biggest fan but i want to know more info not slate him

Well yes the reason i made this post was because the other night he said to help his mam get better and i just wondered how he would do that, the other poster made a good point though to support the rest of his family etc would be a fair point.

It's so blatantly an attempt to gain sympathy and anyone with half a brain noticed what he was up to!

Things like that are supposed to be very personal to you and should be kept private out of respect for the dignity of the person who is ill (unless you're trying to use it to gain sympathy of course!).

I actually think it's awful that Charlie has done it.

Like Pixee said, her care would be covered anyway and no amount of money can 'cure' a coma.

Agree with this.

I also didn't like the way that Charlie said, after recieving his message from his dad, that his mum was getting better because he's still in the house. I know that coma patients can sometimes 'hear' people talking to them, so maybe she is aware that Charlie is doing well in some fashion, but to actually come out and say that was pretty deplorable imo.

He may as well have said, let me win because it's the only way my mum can be made better!

I've heard that buying yourself loads of new clothes, going partying and going on lots of holidays can cure other peoples' comas.

Charlie's mother is NOT in a coma!!!! She WAS in a coma for 6 months but no longer is. She is now in a nursing home where she is being cared for and given intensive therapy. Supplementary therapy is not covered by NHS. Charlie has not made a big thing of this in the house. In fact the first time it became a topic of specualtion in the Forum was after Isaac came out of the house on 1 August and said that Charlie was the most deserving winner. Charlie is a loving and committed son who has his mother's total blessing in being in the house, a view endorsed by his whole family.

Mrs. Drummond was nursery teacher and had set up a number of nurseries in the Newcastle area and was very involved in pre-school services.

I think Charlie has watched to much X-Factor and thou he needed a back up plan incase the FAKE cheeky chappie routine didnt work.
I think what tells alot is remember awhile back when Big Brother gave all the housemates a special prize each and they could get whateva they liked? Charlie wanted a big mac!

Any1 remember Craig from the 1st BB?
He done a real good thing but he never mentioned anything till he had won!
Why talk about what you will do with the winnings if you have'nt won yet?
Fair enough if Charlie will use the money to help his mum IF he wins but why mention it! you've not won! yet?

I'm not prejudiced against Charlie. You are biased towards him.

He has shown himself to think about no one but himslef and you claim he is a caring nice genuine guy. Where is the proof of that?
