Default I'm sexy

I can not believe this atrocious mess has occured over the last 24 hours.

It is completely unforgivable that this website did not have the necessary measures and security software in place to prevent such an attack.

The owner of this website is totally accountable for this huge error of judgement, and is totally unacceptable. This is a large forum with thousands of members, how could you not put the appropriate measures in place?!

If my email account and other accounts are now hacked due to TiBB's absymal security, how can I receive compensation from the owner? This absymal hack can potentially cost me thousands of £.

This is totally unacceptable and you should be embarrased by your lack of judgement to not have the latest security in place. You have caused so much trouble for thousands of people on here and hassle.

Please answer my question: How do I receive compensation from the owner if need be?

Oh Gavin. Is your day incomplete if you have nothing to moan and groan about? Every post you create seems to have that sole purpose in mind. Very tiresome.

Other email accounts can only be hacked if you used the same password as the one you did here..so probably worth changing all of them if you want to be sure...

im interested why you think there might be some financial gain to be achieved from the security lapse..

you can't get compensation. it's up to you to change your passwords if they are the same as email accounts etc.

they closed the forum as soon as they were aware of the problem. when it was back up and running the told us what happened, to be aware and to change passwords. that's all they need to do

No, it could have been prevented.

All big websites have measures in place to prevent such attacks. Apart from TiBB.

The atatcks are inexcusable.

People will find a way to hack into something if they really want to, no matter how good the security.

Why do you think Microsoft et al are constantly having to bring out security updates?

They are constantly having to try and stay one step ahead of the assholes.

You don't see anybody else here complaining, get over yourself.

Stop supporting the website owners and sucking up to them.

I am telling the truth which many people are thinking. All decent websites have measures in place to prevent such attacks.

You don't see other forums like DS going under attack like this.

Is this website run by amateurs?

gavin, if government systems can be hacked into with some of the best security in the world, then forums can be hacked also

you wouldn't have a chance claiming anything from the government, so you'll clutching at straws to think you'd get anything off tibb

I've had a lot more problems being hacked through being on Myspace than this forum going down for 24hours and the owners being very on the ball sorting it out!

All you need to do is change your passwords for crying out loud.

If you put too much personal information on any site you run a risk and you are responsible for not being careful for what information you put on them. You should also make sure you have sufficient anti-virus etc software. TiBB have done well and you should be thankful they noticed it, have done something about it and advised us.

I'm obviouslly pissed off with the hackers.

But I definitely know that this sort of attack could have been prevented with better measures in place.

Don't humour this guy anymore people.... he's out to bicker with people and nothing more. Sure I very rarely see him contribute to other threads so lets not continue with this. TiBB acted quickly and were very good in notifying us and also clarifying the matter with us. I have no probs with them whatsoever.

Gavin mate, I dont think you will recieve compensation. Its the stupid hackers, the security is as high as possible, DS gets hacked too.

I thought by reading the topic title that it was a really serious issue.

This is the internet it is run by everyone that takes part in it for good or bad. Nothing is 100% secure on the net.

You have to accept that to a degree really. The net is a double edged sword for your argument which is valid.
