I found out the other day. I know i should be upset and all but I just don't think i have really accepted it yet? I have cried but its cause i feel bad for my auntie. Shes like her mum, dad, cat and brother in the past 3 years and now shes gunna loose her husband. Its just not fair! We always knew he wasnt gunna last much longer because he has been ill for years but that was a whole different illness. Its upsetting cause we never expected lung cancer. Does anyone know how bad stage 4 is?
God I feel so bad for my aunt right now! I want to talk to her but i couldnt, I know it sounds mean and horrible but i really wouldnt be able too. I would just make her feel worse.

Anyway I just thought i would say it cause I needed to get all this off my chest.

Aww.. I'm sorry yer going through this. It's really hard to know what to say or do or even how to feel..

It's a horrible disease, and knowing that it's not guna get better makes it really hard to deal with.

You should go over and see him. I know when my aunt was ill with cancer, she wanted her family around to spend time with. I guess it makes people realise what's important to them.

And, it means when the time comes, you'll know you got to spend some time chatting or whatever, and maybe cheered him up for an hour.

Also, don't worry about upsetting your aunt. You won't upset her. If anything she'll realise that you are only upset cuz you care too, and that'll make her feel like she doesn't have to go through this on her own.

thanks lili and I would go see her but she lives in america. My dad is going this week and its wierd because he only ever goes anout 2 times a year and he was offered to go a day before we found out!

Without meaning to make it any worse (because you asked) stage 4 is the final stage and the worst one. Its where its no longer in the one lung. It might be in both or it might have spread to other parts, but basically it means its no longer controllable .......

I don't really know what I can possibly say that will make you feel any better, but I feel for you. I know what it's like to have a family member that has cancer, just keep strong and try and stay as happy as you can be at this tough time

I'm very sorry to hear this and my thoughts are with you during this hard time. Coming from someone who knows what your going through, the best advice I could give you is that right now your family are the best people to be around and talk to about this. The only thing you can do is be there for him, and your auntie. I know you can't be in person, but whether it be by phone or e-mail etc. He will take heart in knowing you are thinking of him I am sure.

My mother had cancer whilst she was pregnant with me.

Stay strong Ninastar, for not only yourself but your uncle.

well i dont know yet. they have been with the doctor all day taking all sorts of tests. not just to do with the cancer but his kidney too. he has been taken off medicine for his kidney, so he will be hooked to a machine for a month. hes not getting much better, i think hes getting worse

Oh im sorry, i hope he improves.... like i siad both my grand fathers died of it when i was 5, so i was really effected as i ddint know they had it... so its harder for you as your older, and plus you get on with him!

Hes taken another turn for the worst. Hes been told hes only got a few days left, Lucky if he makes it past monday.
My dad has been crying just seeing the state he is in, My dad like never cries aswell and its hard to hear that he has.
