Default Musical Chairs? Darts? Hoops?

What next pass the parcel?? Is this the best result from the so called focus groups that told C4 we find all weekly tasks boring?. If the HGs had a weekly task to train for their success or failure would be down to their own strengths or weakness not 5 mins playing party games. It would give them all something to do all week so we would see people perhaps in a different light instead of just sitting around getting on each others nerves and drinking. How can they move onto BB4 when BB3 has turned out like this??(children chose smileys!!)

Completely agree, Gardencroft. I've already said on another thread that I found last night's task the worst so far - completely demeaning for grown men and women to be forced to play musical chairs is certainly not my idea of a 'task'.

And practically every member on this forum has bemoaned the lack of a weekly task which the housemates are allowed to practice for - giving them something to do and keeping the viewers entertained at the same time.

To the focus groups - if you thought we thought last year's weekly tasks were boring ...... then you REALLY don't want to know what we think of this year's ones!

If it doesnt get any better, I won't feel like watching next year's. This year's enough to be thinking about at the moment. I hope next year will be an improvement. If it's still going that is

I tell you what Steve, there's always Dolly's tapes from last year!

Still, look at the ratings, they've got what they want, haven't they?

I'm sure it will be back again next year.

After all, millions of satisfied customers can't be wrong, can they?

the darts and the hoops were a bit ordinary but the musical chairs was a laugh but a bit babyish. It's nothing like last years tasks, they were brilliant, wouldn't of thought I'd be saying this but I think BB is losing it a bit

I thought it was just me, blinded by hatred, but someone e-mailed BBLB with the same point:

Alex cheated throughout the musical chairs, by hanging back and going slower than anyone else, so there was always a big space in front of him!

I seem to remember the person behind him (Jade?) pointing this out once or twice.

Still, Alex can do no wrong, can he?

What are we watching here...RAINBOW.. and the parties are just as childish too..although the school disco was about what 20 somethings do in the real world?
I was just thinking back to Brians Teddy Bears Picnic last year. It was so silly..he was after all celebrating his 23rd birthday not his 5th...he was such a sweetheart though and played along with it all with his usual sweet acceptance, but it was a bit painful to watch him and the other housemates all much older than this years lot too...sitting around with teddies on their laps eating kiddies party food including jelly and cream. Whoever thought that up, and the latest task this year, surely has to be taking the p*ss big time!? (Looks like BB is doing that with most things this year to be honest!)

Yes the one with the face paints..which was actually huge fun to watch but only because Brian, Helen, Dean and Betty made it so and had so much fun hamming it up! It was still what you would expect to see children doing though, not really for adults was it? What is it with the Producers, can't they think of anything better or as I said before are they taking the p*ss and want the housemates to look as stupid as possible?

I feel that BB is being run by the psycologists this time round . they are even more like labrats this year than ever. seeing how the subjects react to a situation where team building is encouraged but, not in a holistic sence but to create 2 microcosums withing the main group. They are then using the depravation and reward to monitor how each of the units react to each other. The tasks designed to sap the enthusiasum of the housemates are deliberatley inane and pointless to back up the non team theory.
The tought of "i missed the dartboard with 1 dart or i missed the hoop with 1 ball and this has given me poverty for a week "is a tension bringing aspect to the house as was the choosing of mates to live in the rich side was for alex. With the divide being brought down the whole ethos of the group will be changed, if the previous theories are to be maintained they will have to find another non physical barrier to put in between the group. The plot thickens ...will they bring the group together with weekly tasks, or divide them with more experiments ?

This year C4 seems to want to promote disunity and conflict, a very different ethos to the last two years, in both BB1 & BB2 the housemates always had to work together as a team and the rewards were for the group as a whole, this year since the advent of the bars, they have been working against one other for the privilege of living on the rich side.

It will be interesting to see what will happen when the bars come down. With the housemates back together as one group again there will no longer be anything obvious to compete against each other for, and I hope therefore that C4 will try to bring the housemates together as a more coherent group by giving them some teambuilding tasks.

I somehow suspect that C4 will want to see the conflict continue, but even if they didn’t I think coming up with more teambuilding tasks will be very difficult for C4 to achieve because they have restricted themselves to the type of task that can be prepared and performed during the half hour live show on Saturday nights. This short burst of activity is nowhere near long enough to promote any sort of effective teamwork. I wish that C4 would realize this and change how the tasks are given this year. They could still have the live show on Saturday night, but the housemates could be given the task a few days before and given chance to prepare for it. This would give them more to do, us more to watch and would bring them more together as a team, hoever, as I have already said, I don't think C4 want this.

I agree Lee which is a pity because I think they would get sufficient conflict just by chance as was shown in BB2.

Conflict makes BB interesting but too much of it is painful to watch.

I don't see why they can't have the same task regime as last year with a few days to practice and occupy them. After all when the BB2 tasks were performed as I remember they didn't last more than half an hour so they could still show them live on a Saturday.

I wonder if the Producers read this forum and take note, I am sure they must do because just today the housemates have been given a task at the beginning of the week and not only that but they don't have to perform it until tomorrow. It is a bit better than the 'pot luck' ones they have been given and does bring them together a bit more, but is still not that challenging...better than nothing though I suppose.
