They're all pretty similar really, I prefer BB as well but watch both, the things is though people get fed up with shows after a while, the same thing will happen with X-Factor too, I reckon

All the tears and sad stories does my head in on x factor, I couldnt watch the final last year because of all the over the top crying from Alex (but I do agree she has a brilliant voice)

Also, Simon Cowell is smart, he's constantly changing things, I mean "The X-Factor" is pop idol & pop stars : the rivals but he just packed it up in a different box to keep people interested. And changed the format again this year. If the BB producers put half as much effort into BB as Simon Cowell puts into his show, I think it would be doing alot better

last years X factor winner was boring generic crap..Cowell picks the winner anyway by boot camp, its all set up.
and the reason BB is dying on its arse is because we havent had a quality winner since BB5.

thats why we need Rod or Siavash to win, their the only worthy ones left in a house of dull bores.

BB is brilliant and miles better than The X Factor IMO.

The X Factor is overrated, the sob stories are just stupid, and the new audition format is horrendous! I'm also sick of Christmas No. 1 being hogged by yet another X Factor Winner's single, why can't we just have a normal one for a change?

The music industry is miles bigger than any interest in reality, therefore more people want to watch people with talent than people with no talent living in a house.

BB isn't for the family and xfactor is made for families so bound to get more.

Ultimately the bottom line is there is some form of talent on X-Factor and there is no talent on big brother.

They are both the same thing, reality tv shows heavily edited and manipulated by producers, editors and exist to milk the audience of their money by pretending to actually put the decision in the public hands when in fact we really have no say.

Thats my two cents on that.

As to the viewership, karoke is way more popular than seeing people just sitting around doing bugger all.

I don't know why I watch either really, they're both fixed in terms of the winner pretty much. (in recent years anyway).

I just love them both!

BB will always be the king of reality TV for me though, nothing will ever top it.
