Default Small gigs vs big shows?

What do you prefer? Do you prefer a small thearte gig or do you love stadium shows? Or are you just content with arenas?

Well i've seen Arctic Monkeys do both, firstly in The Ambassodor, Dublin a few years ago, immense sing a long...

Then I saw them at Malahide castle twice, Unreal sing a long....

Both are the same for me, I like the big crowds though more atmosphere....

In my lifetime of concerts I've to 4 arena gigs and 6 stadium concerts. I've never been to any smaller.

Arenas are good but stadiums for me just surpass it all. For a stadium show to be AMAZING though, you have to be close. I was at the back for my 2 Manchester ones and the atmosphere was nowhere near as intense as up front. The great thing I love about stadiums is it's up to you where you are. If you want to be front row,it's up to you to queue from 8am in the morning and run like a maniac so all the people who deserve to be up front are.

Also visually a show can be soooooooooooooooooooooo much more amazing in a stadium, like Take That had a 30m mechanical elephant, you couldn't get that in arenas! Also for singalongs and for moments like Never Forget, seeing all those arms clapping or hearing the loudest of the crowd is just absolutely breathtaking and mindblowing. A lot of people say stadium concerts aren't intimate but when you're up front it always always feels intimate.

I really hope TT never go back to arenas!

See I never pay any attention to when tickets go on sale for anyone but TT and tickets are always sold out by the time I know they're coming! I wanted to get The Script and Snow Patrol tickets, all sold out *grumbles*

Yayyyyyyyy for you going to the The Point(I'm very stubborn about that haha) to see a band you love!

I much prefer smaller gigs.
When I went to see Sam Sparro and Patrick Wolf [Shepherds Bush/Electric Ballroom respectively] live, we were fairly close to the front, and it was a lot more intimate. Not only could you see a lot better, you could hear a lot better, and the emotions and feelings of the songs connected way better with a smaller audience. It can get a little annoying when there's not much space and you're being pushed about but I'm willing to sit through that LOL. I'm seeing Green Day on 24th October and I'm in like, seat 600 and something on the upper tier of the O2 and it's like WTF? haha. I can't see myself getting the same feeling as I did from SS & PW. It's like at V-Fest when I saw Lady GaGa, as fricken happy as I was to see her, it was crowded, hot, you could barely move, and almost got trodden on walking out of the arena area, as people who couldn't get inside were listening to her from outside.

Small gigs - less people, less hot and more chance you'll get close to the stage e.g. at Islington. <3

I've never been to any
But I'd much prefer smaller gigs, I think then there'd be more proper fans and more intimate. For me I think the atmosphere would be better.

Yeh im with Darenn.

Smaller gigs ftw,the artist can talk to you and you feel apart of their music.

I love the personal chats between artist and crowd.

PATRICK WOLF <3

I been to 15 gigs and 1 arena.

Hoping to see Placebo soon

I've only ever been to big gigs, I do see the attraction to a more intimate setting but personally I find the crowds and vast space makes everything more exciting but. But obviously I can't fully judge until I have been to both.
