Default The aliens were boring, why such a big deal?

I found the alien segment with Lisa and David boring. I don't understand why so many media figures keep talking about how brilliant it was and one of the highlights of the show. Why?

It contained no struggle, the challenge while potentially interesting, didn't really make for good TV. Yes its ironic that they are there out there but can't be known, however it simply was not entertaining. It was dull in fact.

I think they say it was great because it was such a "feel good" episode, but as far as actual entertainment value goes, it contained very little. No suspense, no conflict, nothing.

I thought it was quite funny, but nowhere near brilliant or 'the best show of the series'

They know this year has overall rivaled BB4 as the worst so they just bring herds of guests and have them say things like "Oh definitely been the best year I've ever seen". The Alien Task is the perfect centre point to use to try and boost the success of this year, as HM's going outside was a first and supposed to be a big deal. Turned out to be utter boring rubbish.

David's voice and chuckle really does suit being a puppet voice for children's TV!

Yeah, it wasn't great at all. Not even memorable to me, really.

No housemate should be allowed to leave the Big Brother house. The boring alien task was anti-Big Brother.

I thought it was quite symbolic, aired the night we were told BB had been axed, and that whole episode had come full circle.

I didn't think it was that great either. Yeah, I get it that it was groundbreaking that housemates were allowed out of the house, but it was boring.

Nanu nanu.

Then again, it did involve the two most boring housemates. Maybe if others had been in the alien suits, it would have been more entertaining.

I loved every minute of it and couldn't get enough. I thought it was BRILLIANT and David and Lisa were the perfect two to carry out the task. Simply Brilliant.

I agree - I was complete rubbish. David & Lisa didn't enjoy themselves - they were desperate for their tobacco fix.

the "great escape" that happened at the same time... now, that was funny. And what seemed funnier was when the 2 teams exchanged experiences...

It was a big deal becuz its the first time people have left the house for a task, thats all, there were a few funny moments, but none that are a best moment of bb10, for me, anyway.

I thought it was dull, was disappointed that Lisa didnt try to light a fag and set light to herself under the synthetic fur. That would have made good viewing.

If I'd have been an alien, say with Marcus, on a pre- arranged sign we would have done a runner, and that is what they should have done.

Could you have imagine David shouting 'Yorkshire Pudding,Lisa' and them both running into each other, before disappearing over Tower Bridge, with David shouting- ' Nanu, Nanu'.

Now that would have been hilarious TV, with the camera crew trying to keep up. Both last seen jumping into a Black Cab.

The great escape was absolute rubbish. I just saw them rebelling for the 5000th time and trying this macho chauvinism like they really had an edge. How crap...

the exchange of experiences, just showed from their faces which was the better. Charlie's face said it all and Siavash's "you've just pissed all over" point highlighted the trip around London was tonnes better.

I agree MassiveTruck. The 'great escape' was hardly great. In fact it was very dismal. It looked like Siavash sought Marcus's approval before daring to venture. The others were like sheep following. I thought Kenneth's escape was pretty good and the Aliens in London certainly put the so called 'great escape' into the shade. One of highlights of BB this year for me was when Marcus was in the DR and BB tried to tell him off for copying Sree's accent. Marcus soon told them where to get. Although I'm not a massive fan of Marcus I do believe it would have been a boring BB without him.

previous shows have had the big contestant switcheroo with other BB shows like in S africa or australia. THings like that: the alien task was like a cheap alternative.

They find housemates for the show that will crave and need attention. Probably based upon their relationship with their parents - either parents who over compensated or didn't.

Only childs and such. Marcus and Siavash fell into this bracket. My point is - BB spent a lot of camera time on him because he played for the cameras a lot. The rest were mundane. Entertaining... but mundane.

A great BB is where these attention seekers are people you can relate to.

I LOVED this episode!
My favourite, apart from the single ladies episode, of the series!
