Breaking News: Kurt Angle Found Not Guilty

Report by TNAWrestlingNews.com Staff on 09/15/2009 at 02:02 PM

Kurt Angle, Pittsburgh's Olympic gold medalist and professional wrestling champion, was found not guilty of harassment and other charges were dropped on Tuesday stemming from the alleged stalking of his ex-live-in girlfriend.

Angle, 40, was arrested last month, shortly after Trenesha Biggers, 26, got a protection from abuse order against him in Moon Township and had police officers remove him from his house.
Biggers did not comment as she left district court on Tuesday, but Angle and his lawyer answered media questions for about two minutes.

The arrest happened in Robinson Township, where police said Biggers claimed Angle was stalking and harassing her by driving around the parking lot while she was at Starbucks Coffee in Robinson Towne Center.

District Judge Carla Swearingen cleared Angle on the harassment charge related to the PFA order, and Angle is living at home again while Biggers has moved out.

Dismissed by the judge were charges of driving with a suspended license -- stemming from Angle's refusal of a breath test on an unrelated DUI charge that he beat at trial in 2007 -- and drug possession related to two vials of human growth hormone in Angle's car at the time of his arrest last month. Angle said he has a prescription for HGH and uses it for an ongoing condition related to previous neck injuries from wrestling.

Angle holds the heavyweight championship belt for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. Biggers is also a wrestler and works infrequently for TNA under the name "Rhaka Khan."

In an exclusive interview days after his arrest, Angle told WTAE Channel 4's Michelle Wright that he was going to a hotel near the Starbucks after police made him leave his house and Biggers just happened to be there at the same time. Breaking into tears, he said spending nine hours in the Allegheny County Jail was the lowest point of his life.

Angle became emotional again on Tuesday as he spoke to reporters outside the courtroom, saying he opened his home to Biggers and his generosity was taken advantage of.

"I will continue to live my life by the law, as I always have," Angle said.

A separate hearing will be held next month in Moon on the PFA and a simple assault charge that was filed to obtain the protection order.

Angle has said that he never physically harmed Biggers and doesn't know why she filed for a PFA order against him.

It would appear that TNA is saying goodbye to the six-sided ring as a traditional four-sided ring is set up in the Impact! Zone for tonight's Genesis pay-per-view.

The company had been using the six-sided ring since debuting at Universal Studios in June 2004 for their first iMPACT! taping.

We expect to have a photo of TNA's new 4-sided ring later today. We have Mike Shalik on-scene and will get a picture up on the site as soon as he's inside the building.

That sucks so hard. The 6 sided ring made it epically good for high flyers like the Machine Guns and Amazing Red.

And what's gonna happen to the 6-sides of steel? or the steel asylum?

Now they're both gonna be boring and exactly the same as other companies.

Bad move IMO, hopefully they're only having the 4-sided ring for Genesis.

Yeah. Tbh I think TNA are trying too hard to beat WWE. They're too busy changing everything to make it the same as the WWE, that they're losing the company's attraction in the process.

TNA should just stick to what it does best. Wrestling. Leave the promo's and acting to the WWE.

TNA need to be a viable competitor to the WWE. I'm all for drama and promos as long as they are good - something the WWE have not been doing for the longest time. The idea that the 6 sided ring made TNA any different is a joke. Who judges a product by it's ring? It just looked like a toy and it drew in zero additional fans during it's run.

I'm just happy to see a traditional looking, admittedly 90's esque, wrestling product on television again. I feel for the past few years WWE have really overproduced certain aspects of the shows. Save the spotlights and lighting up the crowd for WrestleMania, not Raw every week. Ditto with the ambient lighting all over the shop. I know it's all fake but the idea that Kane aranged in advance to have his locker room bask in a red glow each week is a bit of a tough pill to swallow. TNA looks 'raw'. It looks like a wrestling show on TV should look. WWE looks far too cleaned up in the aesthetic sense.

TNA need to go to war and appeal to the masses. Not a bunch of wank happy smarks who don't appreciate the free entrance to the building. Since the Hogan arrival, I actually want to watch iMPACT. I don't care how old the Nasty Boyz are, they are more entertaining than 90% of the other jumping beans on the roster. In fact, I wish The Band blew up the 6 sided ring and had Jerry Sags **** on the remains of it. Now that's television.

Of course you can. Those are the same handful of pretentious smarks who have been sitting in those same spots in the building for years. They are no indication as to what the overall TNA fanbase is like.

On that note ...

Quote:
"I was Impact on Monday, and they let a lot of non regulars up front on the rail and made those jokers sit up in the stands. It was funny wacthing them complain to management thinking they are a lot more important then they really are. They were crying about it for a while and then started crap to ruin story lines. Like chanting... See More "aj is married" when they were trying to run the nait angle with the hot chicks. they suck and attempt to ruin each show. TNA never told anyone to be quiet, they asked them to leave out the profanity as this show is taped live at a family friendly park and tons of families are in the stands".
And the follow up on a deleted WrestleZone thread :

Quote:
The CC is not concerned with your opinions. We love this wrestling company and are very concerned that the TNA we watched grow up in front of us is being taken apart because a celebrity decided that it was 'his company' and everything has to change. As I told a friend at the taping last night, it's like watching your child get raped and murdered in front of you with all of the rapist's friends and supporters cheering him on. What do you expect us to do? Be happy that the rape and murder will get good press and high ratings? Start cheering for it because it's good for business? **** that.

We will continue to fight for the TNA we knew and loved, and will not go without a fight. There are very real battle lines being drawn within this organization, and I will stand on our side until the bitter end if need be. A while back I crossed the line from being a fan of sports entertainment to being a fan of professional wrestling. I refuse to step back over because the biggest sports entertainer ever tells me it's the right thing to do.
What a twat.

Yeah apparently the 6 sided one was shipped over early and they can't be arsed swapping them around.

If you watch the intro thing to WWE they have replaced the shot of Hogan with a shot of Ted DiBiase. I really don't like how WWE view there wrestlers not as humans, but as 'characters' on a TV show. Leave the WWE, and they will pretend you and your character no longer exist. It's really quiet childish.

Yeah, they changed it to "everyone has a price".

They also stopped advertising Hulk's DVD.

Great episode of Impact. Re-creating the Montreal Screwjob was a good idea. I liked how Kurt was swearing and saying how he'll go back to the WWE for the entire thing, lmao.
