Default Kid's TV

Anyone notice how bad kids TV is these days?? What happened to the good old days of Postman Pat, Fireman Sam, Superted, The Smurfs, The Magic Roundabout, Bill and Ben, Thoman The Tank Engine, and there is loads more. But I feel sorry for the kids these days, such utter rubbish on TV.

I agree, when I was young, most kids shows had some sort of basis in reality, nowadays its all about weird things like the Fimbles

Its the ones where they don't talk properly that do me head in! Making all those 'baby' noises instead of speaking, but the kids love them.

I thought it was best in the 90s but thats when I grew up ... everyone has a natural bias against their own kids TV era. But I think it was well and truly strangled when BBC1 bumped their Saturday morning shows off BBC1 and stopped making a 3 hour long show (Live & Kicking etc), and when ITV1 axed theirs. Saturday morning TV was a staple of kids TV ...

Did anyone watch The Herbs?!
That was my favourite show ever!

I'm a very friendly lion called Parsley
I am always very glad to see you wave
But please don't shout or speak to me too harshly
Because I'm not particularly brave

Also Playdays.
Art Attack and SMart, I loved Mark Speight, he was probably one of my first TV crushes!

The dramas were good too, I remember when BBC adapted Pig Heart Boy, they'd never do something like that now.

Now it seems kids aren't entertained unless it's gross out, loud, rude and full of fighting.

I think Television makes children mentally delayed these days with things like in the night garden and telletubbies and stuff like that.

I don`t really know what kids are watching these days so I can`t really say.I`ve heard about this 'In the Night Garden' lark though and the names of the characters are rediculous!
Bring back the good old days ey
I wonder kids tv I will have to endure when I have little ones of my own.
