I think he argues with him out of frustration. He wants him, isn't gonna get him, and that's always near the surface.

And there's always the slim chance that he may manage to slip the tongue in when they finally 'kiss and make up', too.

EDIT: Actually, I typed G-O-N-N-A, but it's been 'magically changed' in my post to 'going to'. How very, very, very sad.
