Default Why Tory Boy nominated Jonny the fireman:

Tim was able to watch much of the early part of BB3 before coming in the house. He will have heard a group discussion before the bars came down about their jobs and how much they earn. I seem to remember that Jonny earned less than Jade, and Jade couldn't believe that "a fireman earns less than a thick bird".

Jonny went on to talk about what his Trade Union was trying to do about it, and mentioned the possibility of a Fire Brigade strike.

Well, the guy who fancies Mrs Thatcher isn't having that, is he? He probably looks at Jonny and sees Arthur Scargill!

I'm with Jonny on this one!!!!

The situation of a housemate coming into the house having prior knowledge of the rest of the housemates, plus knowing how popular or not each person is and having heard and seen stuff only the voting public are privvy to, totally and blatantly gives them an unfair advantage over the rest of the housemates and therefore I think that the whole process of standbys should be eliminated.
Tim and Sophie do not have an unbiased opinion and should not really be allowed to participate in the game if it was played correctly. Just a thought!

Was the original posting meant to be a joke?
The responses indicate that it was taken seriously. You actually believe this is true?

I'm sorry to disagree with you class warriors but I don't think that Tim (or Tory Boy as you put it) has actually done a lot wrong since coming into the house.

He'll be out within a couple of weeks though. Latecomers in Big Brother are always voted out because of the reasons that Honey said. Their not trusted because of the tactical advantage their inside information gives them.
This counts against them when it comes to nominations.

Also, latecomers have difficulty in expressing their personality and making friends in the house when the others have already bonded.

It was sort of half-serious.

I think that Tim's nominations were based on what he had picked up watching the show before coming in. He never gave Sophie a chance because he had already decided he did not like her. He probably nominated Jonny either for the same reason, or because he saw Alex as the source of power and his strategy was to get in with Alex (though he seems to be finding that increasingly difficult and is now getting on quite well with Jonny).

The point being that if he can get in and survive a couple of weeks, he has an advantage as to knowing how outside perceptions were before he came in.

The posting was meant to be slightly humourous, and I think so were the responses.

It is you, James, that have taken it seriously!

I agree with you about this point.

If I'd read your post on its own I would have recognised it as a joke.
It's just the responses had me wondering!
