Default Elephant and other Gus Van Sant films (all true)

Ive always wanted to watch Elephant but never can find it.

Its part of a trilogy of Gus Van Sant real life films.

Elephant is about the Columbine School Massacre when 2 teens who were bullied made the news by going into teh school and killing over 20 students and teachers.
Its one of the most famous massacres of the US (and yes its real) which took place in 1999 (they had to delay an episode of Buffy because one episode had a storyline with Jonathan trying to kill students and himself and was to air the day after the massacre, but they delayed it a few months) Sorry random info, but i love the show.

And i wanted to watch but cant find it in the shops.

Its teh 2nd film of that writer, the 1st being a Matt Damon and Casey Affleck film called "Gerry" where the 2 are lost in the middle of nowhere, they are best friends but one kills another while lost (also a true story)

And the 3rd film is about the death of Kurt Cobain (Nirvana's lead singer).

Anyone seen any of these films??

I am sort of scared to watch "Elephant" because ive always been scared whenever i hear anything about school and college shooting as they are quite common in teh US, with this one being the biggest.

Seen Elephant, it's a slow-paced one that's not AMAZING but the way the story builds up to the actual shooting (which is just generally about a school shooting) is heartbreaking. School shootings aren't common in the US, it just so happens that when it occurs in the US it is big. I've never known anyone involved in a school shooting or whose school has had a school shooting. The media makes it out like this is occurring every week in the US.

Haven't seen Gerry, heard of it, and I haven't seen Last Days - once again BASED but I don't believe it relates to his life - but I remember it aired on Film4 in January of this year, so it's bound to come on again soon.

Another Gus Van Sant film you should check out is To Die For.

Yeah i was researcing about US crimes and all that, came across the Columbine Massacre and then remembered the film Elephant that i hadnt seen all of. And I watched an episode of Buffy which had Sarah Machalan- Prayer of St Francis playing, and that was apparently on the film Elephant.

Yeah they make it seem its always happening over there, im not sure how many times its happened in the UK though.

Two of the few times it's happened here it's made big news. :/ Columbine in the 90's and then the Virginia Tech Massacre in the 00's. It's definitely worth a watch if you're curious about it, just expect to be left with a cold, confused feeling after you watch it.

My sister owns Last Days, but I've heard its not worth the time to watch so I've yet to get around to borrowing it!
