Default We're expected to be emotional

ALEXANDRA Burke admitted X Factor bosses warn contestants not to act too professional - as it will be their biggest downfall.
The 21-year-old, who won last year's show, revealed ITV1 bosses encourage contestants to cry.

She told a newspaper: "They say, whatever emotion you feel, just let it out. If you're acting too professional, that will be your biggest downfall.

"It's like, people on that stage are crying for their dreams. [The producers] do say 'don't repress it'. Otherwise you don't look human."

And the feisty Bad Boys singer also claimed that she more than holds her own against Simon Cowell - and even tells him where to go if she's not happy with his demands.

She revealed: "I'm not one to beat around the bush, I don't even let my mum and dad tell me what to do.

"We once had a conversation where I made it very plain. I said: 'If I don't like something you're saying, you will know about it'.

"And Simon said: 'Alex, if I am ever wrong - which I never am - I will apologise to you. But if you're wrong, you need to learn to apologise to me.'"
