Default Next Years Big Brother...

do you think that BB should have regular/normal people in the house next year? the american version (i think) are spot on with regular people in the house but its more competitive! ie their tasks are not just for a luxury food budget, tasks are to win a personal advantage over other HMs to stay in the house & so forth. BB uk are trying to be extreme with the choices they make i feel, & are to young. in australia, america, sweden, etc the HMs are very mature (age wise) & the aim of the game IS to win & not "just be there for the BB experience."

science or maxwell should have won!!!

A few American and Canadian girls that I chat to have said that the US BB has been awful this year, and that it's been a ratings flop, too.

I think that if BB got 8 normal people, and maybe just 4 people that are just extremely out there.

* I've seen a few episodes of BBUS and I kind of like it

I would like to see BB be a little more selective when they are choosing HMs instead of just looking at putting in clashing personalities and making sure that they get the cultural mix right - people are people and they should be chosen for their styles as potential HMs

They got the right mix of people in BB2 and BB3 I would like to see more housemates like that thrown in with a few big personalities.

I think BB got all normal people people for BB4 - and we all know what happend there - nothing! - it was a complete bore and a rateing's flop!

Since then - BB has got really outrageus people and some normal people!
but as the series goes on the outragous people dont seem that outrageous.

like in BB5 we had outrageous people, e.g Nadia, Marco, and some normal people , e.g Stuart, Dan, Shell and Vanessa.
And that was a complete sucsess!

This Year BB has takeing a lot more outragouse people that if they had been in BB1 BB2 BB3 BB4 or BB5 - wud have been evicted in the first few weeks - thats why people are finding it difficult to find favorities.

I really dislike her already, she's just another loud mouthed slag. She has no appeal to me in the slightist and I wish they would have never put her in.

No I switched off, I don't wish to see her in any state of undress. I don't like any of that pool business I just find it disgusting tbh and it always put's Anthony down in my estimations.

The trouble is that since BB4, a lot of the housemates seem to be really OTT, or typical stereotypes. There are not really many people that viewers can identify with. In BB2 and 3, there were plenty of people with big characters - Helen, Brian, Bubble, Alex, Jade, Kate, Jonny - but I think that people felt that they could identify with these people. Also, it's quite obvious that BB deliberately picks contestants who they think will argue with each other (one of the most extreme examples was last year in BB5, when Marco - who was gay - said in his audition video that he hated immigrants, and Ahmed - who was an immigrant - said in his audition video that he hated gay people). If they just picked the right people, like they did in BB2 and 3, the show would be much better. There is always going to be conflict in a show where several people who don't know each other are stuck living together 24 hours a day - the program makers don't need to manufacture situations to deliberately cause MORE conflict. As this year has shown, too many arguments don't make good tv.

Totally agree Ruth, could not have put it better myself. I was sick of all the petty rows and conflict, we have a lot of slutty girls in there that are loud and crude and people that have no good qualities. I have lost interest in the show since Science left as he was one of the last housemates that had any appeal to him imo. Putting people like Kinga in has made me even more bored and irritated by this year's show and I may not watch much more.

I'd much rather see BB being something people clearly go into to win, instead of this current rubbish about being nice to people, not bitching and trying to be as inoffensive as possible in order to annoy least people and snore their way into the final.

But it would need a complete redesigning of the show cos at the moment once a housemates says they want to win, we have too many idiots in the public complaining that they have a gameplan or are playing a game. One of the most irritating things with BB is when someone phones into BBLB and Dermot asks them "So why do you dislike X" and the moron on the phone comes out with "They're playing a game", and thats it. They phone up like they're announcing some great peice of reasoning and insight, as if phoning up solely to say "they playing a game" is some sort of fait accomplis worthy of praise. As if "playing a game" in BB is enough to justify hating the person, as if it's the worst thing in the world that the housemate could do. Bleedin idiots annoy me, and thats why BB will always turn out to be the most boring and "nice" person winning, rather than the person who puts in the effort and plays the game and plays with the people in the house.

OK, rant over
