Default Strokes LP named album of the Decade!

NME magazine has named The Strokes' debut record Is This It its 'Album Of The Decade'.

The New York band won the title after a number of music industry figures were surveyed by NME for a new poll to find the best album of the last ten years, which also featured entries from The Libertines, Interpol, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arctic Monkeys, Jay-Z, The Streets and Queens Of The Stone Age.

The Strokes released Is This It in 2001 to worldwide critical acclaim.

Lead singer Julian Casablancas said of the accolade: "It's totally crazy! I don't know what that means. Does it mean it's a good musical decade or a bad musical decade? I don't know, I'm such a bad judge of my own stuff. But I thought it was great when I heard.

"I'm restraining myself now, I don't want to get carried away, but I'm pretty damn psyched with myself. Mental high five!"

The full list of albums is in this week's issue of NME, on sale from November 18.

will be good to see this list!
