Default CD cardboard cases

This probably seems like a very fickle thing to get angry about, but why all of a sudden over the past year have more and more cd's been packaged in this way?

the cases get dirty, tatty, and generally look shite. Plus they don't fit in my cd rack. Plastic ftw.

Digipacks? Yeah I hate them. I'm a right bellend for asthetics and cant stand how they get squashed up and get rendered invisible in between there jewel case brothers.

yeah they really mess up CD stands or displays and they do get tatty a lot of the time. I think it's for environmental purposes they're becoming so frequent.

It doesn't bother me to be honest, but I do think the retailer should be made to state which packaging the CD comes in. Some people would possibly buy elsewhere if they wanted one in particular.

They can be annoying, I've only got a few though luckily. What I do is that I've got two big collmn case things for normal cases and I just put the cardboard ones on one of my bookshelves by themselves. Cardboard ones are a bit useless for any stacks or CD case containers.
