Default Dante's Inferno

the whole of this years cbb is based on a book shirley jones has read called Dante's Inferno,

She said:The strap line Hell Lies in Others and the flaming logo were a clue but Executive Producer Shirley Jones today revealed that the whole series has been inspired by Dante's Inferno "The famous line from Dante’s Inferno is 'Abandon hope all ye who enter here', which has inspired much of what we have done to the house, particularly the entrance which is dark and cavernous with flaming walls. When the celebrities arrive in the house on Sunday night they will definitely wonder what is in store for them, it looks incredibly different from previous years".

Apart from the theme of hell and that whole aesthetic inspiration, no, it's not. Have you ever actually read Dante's inferno?

I believe this is called 'looking into things too mich'.

Yeah. Aesthetic inspiration. But the series isin't going to be based on Dante's inferno. Read the thing and get back to me.

It's the equivalent of saying war in the house this year means each housemate will be given a rifle and a belt of ammo.

Maybe one of the tasks will involve Virgil accompanying one of the housemates to the ninth circle of hell to see Judas Iscariot have his ribs cracked open by a snake protruding from Satan's thigh.

Hmmm... typical of Big Brother. In the first few years, Big Brother was an innovator for fresh ideas and tasks. They were the number 1 reality show around.

But nowadays, BB just keeps borrowing ideas from other shows. Now it's a movie, Dante's Inferno... I also read that some of the tasks will be nicked from I'm a Celebrity.

Don't any of the people working on the show have a decent sized brain to think of something fresh?!

Dante's Inferno is a book originaly. It's the imagery of it they borrowed for the advertising campaign and theme. They aren't basing the series on the script of a fictional movie you goof.

Well duh... I'm aware the actual series isn't based around the movie you fool.

But copying the advertising campaign from a book/movie, just shows how rubbish the poeple working on BB are. They can't even come up with their own fresh ideas!! LMAO.

It's not copying, it's inspiration. In that case everything to do with the modern interpretation of hell you see in the media is copying Dante's Inferno. It's like saying the original Big Brother is just copying what cameras do. Or that all previous advertising campaigns consist of plagarism of the human eye. It's a null point. A no win zone. A pointless argument. The bored ramblings of a bitter old man. LMAO.

Well your maturity stands at around the age of 6 and the grumpiness is of a 80 year old man. Geez, most 80 year olds are MUCH more happy in life then you are.

You actually depress me, Im not even joking.

Don't you EVER get annoyed by how crap Big Brother has been in recent years compared to the glory days?

Aren't you a passionate fan of the show who wants the show to be back at its best.

Anyone who tells you that BB10 was good is a liar. It was BOLLOCKS. Most people on the street would tell you that.

All I want is a good BB to happen, like BB7. Is that so hard to expect? I'm passionate about the show. That's all!

Yes I am, but its ending now, I want it to be good for the last year, but you going on about people with "Hook" noses doesnt make this forum very appealing to new members when you always slag of the show and the presenter. Every post Gavin, every bloody post. Not one is of something positive.

I do respect other people's opinions. But you're clearly in the minority. Most people hated it... that's why the ratings fell from about 6m for launch to 3m... where did those other 3m go? They pissed away as the series was so bad!!

I'm aware most switched off but quiet a large percentage of the hardcore audience who did stay on loved it, including me.

And statements like 'If anyone tells you BB10 is good, they are a liar' and 'I do redpect other people's opinions' can't co exist, sorry.

Well, I was obviously exaggerating when I said "'If anyone tells you BB10 is good, they are a liar'"

But it's fair to say that it won't go down as a classic series, especially with no live feed on offer!
