Default Brother, he\'s back!

Quote:

Big Brother winner Anthony Hutton returned to a triumphant welcome in his home town.

More than 250 fans turned out in Consett to loudly congratulate the reality TV star who won the sixth series of the hit show on Friday night.

Anthony was driven up from the home he shares with his mother and grandmother in Stanley Street to a red carpet at the pavilion in the town's Blackhill Park.

And the 23-year-old was looking fresh-faced, showing off his dance moves despite having been slightly the worse for wear following the Big Brother wrap party on Monday night.

Anthony's friends and a mystery blonde had to help him out of the bash at Kew Gardens, London.

But yesterday, on home territory, he ran laps around the screaming crowd before his yellow vest was swapped for an Anthony to Win Big Brother T-shirt.

The event was organised by Derwentside District Council, which also made Anthony an ambassador for its Young People's Forum.

Thanking the crowd, a beaming Anthony was overwhelmed at the turnout. He said: "O my God, this is off the scale. I can't believe this reaction. I wasn't expecting this. It's just so nice to see Consett town which, I'm sure, was backing me up 100% and to see all the old mates and see all my family."

Local companies also presented the Big Brother winner with a holiday to Florida and a year's supply of pretzels.

During his time on the Channel 4 show, Anthony lived up to his ladies' man tag, sharing passionate moments with both Orlaith and Makosi.

Alex Watson, leader of Derwentside council, said he had known the Huttons for many years and the decision to make Anthony an ambassador for youth was because of his personality, not because of his time on the show.

He explained: "It's not about celebrating Big Brother but celebrating Anthony.

"He really has put Consett on the map, Derwentside on the map - he has put the North East on the map."
