RESULT! Big Brother 6 was stuffed full of divas and drama queens, and who won? A down-to-earth Geordie. OK, Anthony was vain and a bit dim, but at heart he was decent; a nice, normal lad. All reet! Second place went to Eugene the sweet-natured nerd. And yes, admittedly he was weird and boring, but isn’t it refreshing that voters valued honesty and openness over hissy-fits and self-abasement? This year’s housemates were a largely unpleasant bunch of big-heads and show-offs. Makosi had been an early favourite but she lost us with her porky pies and treachery. Those daft pregnancy claims were her downfall. And boy did the crowd turn on her on Friday, chanting “Liar!” repeatedly, followed by “Off! Off! Off!” People who have read Orwell’s Big Brother novel 1984 would have been reminded of the Two Minutes Hate. It felt uncomfortable; but that’s because this show holds up a mirror to humanity and we don’t always like what we see.

Here’s my verdict on the highs and lows of BB6.

• Best talking point: Craig’s unrequited love for Anthony.
• Worst talking point: Kinga’s bottle job.
• Funniest moment: Kinga trying to get on that bucking bronco.
• Most interesting housemate: Derek.
• Least interesting: Vanessa.
• Most annoying: the pointlessly stroppy Science.
• Most spoilt: Makosi.
• Most wronged: Maxwell – Endemol nobbled the voting to get him evicted (but team Saskia still won! End of!)
• Biggest hypocrite: Kemal, who called Saskia a slapper, but admitted to sex with a stranger in a skip!
• Biggest girl: Craig – weepier than most pregnant women.
• Creepiest Moment: Craig undressing the drunken Anthony.
• Most deluded: Makoski, “I have never lost anything in my life.”
• Top quote: Craig “Two words, Anthony - whatever.” Top catchphrase; “Off the hook.”
• Worst psychic: Mary, who, on Friday, predicted Eugene would win.
• Top fakes: Orlaith’s 30E chest enhancements.
• Biggest fake: Makosi (see also, Biggest Two-Faced Back-Stabbing Pathological Fantasist).

I thought I would put this in the Big Brother 6 section so people could comment. Most people seem to miss reading the Press Coverage section of the site or just don't like commenting on the stories anymore.

That quite surprised me. I agree with most of that, with the exception of the comments about Derek, Science, and the description of Eugene as boring. Not that it alters in any way the fact that Bushell is one of the vilest human beings alive today.

I surprised to CharlotteSometimes that I agreed with him. Most of the time I only look at what he writes so I can disagree with him.

Garry Bushell is a British television critic, television presenter, and newspaper columnist. He most famously wrote for The Sun before leaving in 2001 as a result of a dispute whereby Bushell let the rival tabloid newspaper The Daily Star serialize his book.

He began his career in the late 1970s, writing for the the left wing newspaper Socialist Worker, then music magazine Sounds in the early 1980s, covering the punk genre. Bushell's website claims that he started the Oi! movement. This was described by Joe Pearce, the then YNF organiser, as "the musical wing of the National Front". [1] However, many Oi! bands were unequivocal in their rejection of racism and far-right politics.

He moved to Fleet Street in 1985 working for The Sun, and was promoted to writing for its "Bizarre" column as showbusiness editor. He was also assistant editor of The Daily Star.

In the mid-1990s he hosted a programme called Bushell On The Box, the same title as the column that he wrote for The Sun, analysing and criticizing that week's television programmes. A regular feature of the column was Garry's Goofs, in which he highlighted an unintended double entendre within that week's programmes. In 2002 he published King of Telly: The Best of Bushell on the Box containing the highlights of his column.
