BIG Brother star Jade Goody was distraught last night after being told her dad had died of a heroin overdose.


The body of Andrew Goody, 42, was discovered early yesterday at a house in Dorset.

He had been hooked on heroin for years and had overdosed at least 15 times.

A pal said: “Jade is in tears, she is devastated. She didn’t get on with her dad — but this is still a massive shock.”

Her mum Jackie Budden, 47, said news of Andrew’s death was not a surprise.

She revealed: “We’ve been expecting it for the past 11 years. But I didn’t realise it would hit us this hard.

“I think Jade is feeling it most, knowing that her two boys will never see him.

“We were still dreaming that one day he’d get better and be a real father and grandfather.”

Jade, 24, disowned Andrew because of his drug-taking. She has not yet decided if she will go to his funeral.


She has sons Bobby, two, and Freddie, ten months, with Jeff Brazier, 26.

The on-off pair shared a day out at the V Festival at Chelmsford, Essex, the day before she was given the shock news.

Her dad served four years for armed robbery and Jade had an emotional reunion with him while he was in jail.


He vowed to go straight after more than 50 convictions, but became a junkie.

Within months he was back in prison after being caught with crack.

In October, he was admitted to Royal Bournemouth Hospital, Dorset, in a critical condition after a suspected overdose.

Jade once said: “I don’t take drugs, Jeff doesn’t take drugs, none of our friends take drugs.

“Why would I bring my father into Bobby’s life when he could be a bad influence?

“My mum Jackie’s always been a mum and a dad to me.”
