The mother of a seven-year-old girl who starved to death at her Birmingham home has been sentenced to 15 years and the girl's stepfather jailed indefinitely.

It's a chilling story, It makes me sick to the stomach that they've basically been given 7 years each. It should be a whole lot longer. The fact that the Social Services didn't intervene is just shocking, We really need to look at them if two different branches of it have allowed both this and the Baby P cases to reach their sad conclusions.

If the Social Services intervened Khyra would still be alive.
