Default Does the media ever portay the good points about teens?

They seem to be so focussed on letting teh bad news overshadow the good news about teens. Its like the news and media are aiming at the older members of the UK to try and inject them with the fact that teenagers are trouble makers.
The hyperdermic model thats what the media does!

I cant even walk by an elderly person anymore, without the person clutching their bags and wallets when I walk passed!! Same when i open the door for them and im wearing a hoodie because its raining, they seem to think we are all evil.

Why dont they focus on positives such as...
The record breaks we have been achieving for GCSE and A Level Results. At our school, 95% of the school got A*-C grades.
Most teens are educated and have a lot of respect, but i think the media is evry biasand one dimensional.

Raising money for charities, Haiti for example, my friend raised £445 for Haiti for some sort of sport event.

Apparently we are all chavs and ASBOs.

Which is unfair considering there are sick bastards killing their own daughters/sons in the world.

Yep I know. Its either that or Katie Price.
They need to find more material to print on newspapers, its getting too repetetive.

Even when there are good points (e.g. exam results) they always have to pick out the negatives and they trot out the annual "are exams getting easier" debate. Nothing to do with teaching methods improving year on year ...

Yes I have noticed that!! I remember seeing that reported in the summer after i got my results. I was so annoyed because i know for a fact that its not been getting easier, they are trying to make teens look uneducated chavs and troublemakers. They cant admit that loads of teens are actually intelligent and are doing well in school and college.

Your sample size of one, ie you, is lacking.

What newspaper do you read, what news media do you watch, do you read your local paper?

I have not seen any evidence of what you say. The media is the people, media means you, me and everyone in the UK.

The Sun, The Mirror, Daily Mail, NOTW, and my 2 local newspapers... they always seem to have something bad to say. My 2 local newspapers during GCSE results made an excuse that they were getting easier.

My sample size of one? Its right there infront of everyone! They have people killing family members and daughters/sons, but they seem more interested in making teens all look like yobs.

And no the media doesnt reflect everyone.
Eg. Does everyone give a **** about Katie Price? Most people arent, but she's always on the news/magazines/newspapers.

Yes but tales of teens undergoing the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme or going shopping for the local oaps dont figure highly in the media's agenda do they?

They feel that shock and horror stories preying on peoples fears are the best way to increase circulation, or get more viewers.

Exams are getting easier. But then again why shouldnt they? the pressures heaped onto teenagers now are increasing.

No they don't because happiness doesn't sell magazines. Who the hell wants to read about happy people ? Death and misery are so much interesting according to them. You can notice the same thing in TV News. The trashier it is, the better the ratings will be.

Must be frustrating for normal good teens to have their age bracket dissed.......However sad fact is bad behavour among the young is on the increase and good behavour does not normally make news........

Good teens can help their cause........Shop the baddies you know about.......
