Default Court Hears Tweed 'Wanted Threesome'

The student allegedly raped by Jack Tweed has told a court she was no longer bubbly and active, but a vulnerable young woman.

The 20-year-old was "frozen with fear" as she was attacked by Tweed and his friend Anthony Davis, Snaresbrook Crown Court in east London heard.

The young woman from Hertfordshirealso claimed both had pestered her for a threesome.

Tweed and Davis both deny raping the woman at Tweed's east London home in the early hours of September 4 last year.

In a statement to police on December 23, the woman - who was 19 at the time of the alleged attack - said: "I used to be a bubbly person but now I feel so withdrawn.

"I still now feel intimidated and vulnerable. I'm no longer willing to leave home without the support of my family."

The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said she used to have an active and outgoing social life.

She added: "I no longer have the desire to do such things as I only really feel safe in the comfort of my own home with my family."

The jury heard the woman describe how she felt "horrified" and went into "complete lockdown" when Davis joined Tweed on the bed and they both raped her together.

Tweed's defence Ronald Jaffa asked how she could be sure of the details of the incident if she was so "out of it".

"There's a difference between being out of it and being shocked when you're being raped by two men," she answered.

The jury of six men and six women heard the young woman went with her friends to Tweed's house in Woodford Green, east London, after a night out at the Embassy club in Mayfair.

Her first contact with Tweed was when he started kissing the back of her neck while wearing boxer shorts and a long dressing gown, the court heard.

The jury was told she initially tried to laugh it off, but Davis then tricked her into one of the bedrooms.

He called for Tweed to join them and the pair pestered her for a threesome, the court heard.

The alleged victim said Tweed became "more heavy-handed" and raped her by the window sill.

As she tried to escape, he pushed her on to the bed and raped her again, with Davis joining in and raping her at the same time, the court heard.

Giving evidence from behind a court screen, the student denied she wanted to continue having sex with Tweed after the first incident and rejected the suggestion she was "quite willing".

But she repeated that she did not say "no", and that she initially kissed Tweed back.

Asked why, she said: "Because I was so scared. I was pretty traumatised."

Tweed - who married Big Brother star Jade Goody shortly before her death in March 2009 - denies two counts of rape, while Davis denies one count of the same charge.

A friend of the teenage woman allegedly raped by Jack Tweed today described how she desperately banged on the bedroom door in a bid to get her friend out of there.

She said there was no lock but she still could not get in to the room because someone was holding the door.

"That's when I realised that there must have been two people in there," she said.

"They were not letting my friend out of the room. I just wanted to get her out of there."

Tweed, the widower of Big Brother star Jade Goody, and his friend Anthony Davis, 26, both deny raping the teenager at Tweed's east London home in the early hours of September 4 last year.

The victim, who was just 19 at the time, told Snaresbrook Crown Court in east London she was "horrified" and went into "complete lockdown" when Davis joined Tweed on the bed and they both raped her together.

Her friend, a 20-year-old council worker, told the jury she went to the bedroom when she noticed her friend was missing.

"The first time I was like, 'Are you all right?'," she said.

"There wasn't a reply for a while, then she replied, 'Yes'.

"Then the time that (we) went up to get her because we wanted to go she wasn't replying to us.

"I started banging on the door because I wanted to go home and at that point I was starting to worry about her."

She added that her friend was in a "state" when she first emerged from the bedroom - moments after the alleged attack took place.

"She was just blank, like she had seen a ghost," she said.

"She had no expression, no emotion or anything. She just wouldn't talk."

Later, the friend told police: "It wasn't (her). She seemed really weird."

Asked by Linda Strudwick, prosecuting, if she had ever seen her friend like that before, she replied: "Never."

The friend went on: "She was just shaking, she looked ill.

"She just burst into tears before she could say anything."

She added that Davis threatened the victim, saying that he would slap her across the face if she did not return to the bedroom.

But the four young women left the house immediately.

The friend went on: "When she first got into the car she said,'If someone tries to have sex with you and you say, 'No', is that right?'

"She said she just shut her eyes and froze because she didn't know what else to do."

Earlier, Dr Greta Forster, who examined the alleged victim after the incident, said the young woman suffered no physical injuries.

Dr Forster, the lead clinician for The Haven, a sexual assault referral centre, added that a lack of injuries was consistent with the victim's account of being raped by someone without struggling and without overt force.

The jury of six men and six women heard the young woman went with her friends to Tweed's house in Brandesbury Square, Repton Park, Woodford Green, east London, after a night out at the Embassy Club in Mayfair.

Her first contact with Tweed, a 22-year-old club promoter, was when he started kissing the back of her neck while wearing boxer shorts and a long dressing gown.

The court heard she initially tried to laugh it off but Tweed soon became "more heavy-handed" and the situation changed when Davis stood inside the bedroom and told Tweed: "Don't worry Jack, I've got the door, do what you've got to do."

She said Tweed raped her by the window sill and, as she tried to escape, pushed her on to the bed.

Tweed then raped her again, with Davis orally raping her at the same time, the court heard.

Tweed, who married Big Brother star Goody, 27, shortly before she lost her battle against cervical cancer in March 2009, and estate agent Davis, of Stradbroke Drive, Chigwell, Essex, are both on bail.

Tweed denies two counts of rape while Davis denies one count of the same charge.
