Three senior staff members have left Modern Warfare developer Infinity Ward.

Programmer Jon Shiring and designer Mackey McCandlish, who spent a combined 14 years with the company, walked out earlier this week.

It has since been confirmed that lead artist Chris Cherubini has left the developer, while sources at Kotaku suggest that another three staff members - programmer Rayme Vinson and lead designers Steve Fukuda and Zied Reike - have also departed.

The exits follow the removal of studio heads Jason West and Vince Zampella by Activision last month. The pair have recently founded a new studio in collaboration with EA.

There has been no indication whether the former Infinity Ward staff will join West and Zampella's studio.

Activision basically closed in on IW HQ and placed security guards all over, they then took the two head people of a windowless room (seperatley) then interviewed them for around four hours, then fired them

Two more employees have parted company with Modern Warfare developer Infinity Ward.

Lead animator Mark Grigsby and lead character animator Paul Messerly are the latest to join the wave of departures, bringing the number of leavers to 12.

Grigsby was with the studio for five years and voiced one of the main characters in Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Messerly put in eight years service, having been part of the studio that formed Infinity Ward, 2015 Inc.

The exodus began last month when studio founders Vince Zampella and Jason West were dismissed for breach of contract. The pair have since gone on to form a new company, Respawn Entertainment.

Respawn's first project will be a commission from EA Partners.
