I adore this game, it came in the post yesterday. It's probably one of the most ridiculously fun games I've played in a long while. It's kinda like Devil May Cry/God of War etc.

I really must rent this at least. It is much higher on my list of "want to play" games than God of War III, having played the demos of both.

I'd fully recommend it, If you do get it try to get it on the Xbox if you can as the PS3 version has some big technical problems or something. I've only ever played demos of GOW and I liked them but they always felt repetitive to me. There's not many different moves and such.

I found the GOWIII demo a little bit dull. All I did was bash the melee button to wipe out hoards of enemies. For this reason, the QTE sequences were probably the most fun part, which can never be a good thing. What's with the easy puzzles too? Oh, and Kratos looks a bit like Quan Chi from Mortal Kombat, lol.

I liked GOW from the small bit I played but it seemed a bit overrated to me mainly because i found the combat limited which I said before. What I love about Bayonetta though is each weapon basically has it's own movelist, when you take into account you can equip weapons on your feet as well as your hands and that you can switch between different sets of weapons on the fly, it became quite indepth. That's without talking about Torture attacks and accesory abilities either. The beauty of it though is that it's all still really acessible. It's a brilliant system really, and I hope Devil may Cry 5 takes it's cues from Bayonetta. The boss fights are amazing too, probably some of the best I've played on a game. |
