Default Bad Lads Army Finished...but

How many of the members here would ever want to try something like that? Also what are your thoughts on instead of people getting sent to prison they get national service? Do you think that would sort out the crime etc of today?

I think boot camps are a good idea when it's anti-social behaviour, especially in young lads. Some of them aren't all bad, they just need some proper guidance. It really depends on the crime, the circumstances, the age etc.

I don't think prison is always the right answer, although for certain crimes, especially sex crimes and crimes against children, I think longer prisons sentences should apply.

Maybe if we freed up prison space by using other methods for less serious offenders, then we would be able to house the dangerous ones, rather than letting them loose on society to re-offend.

Oh, and btw, I have never watched Bad Lads Army. Just thought I would reply to your post because I have loads of opinions!

On bad lads army the types of people who appeared where ....drug users, robbers, pub brawlers, drug dealers, possesion of a weapon etc. Most of them went in all mouth and with the attitude that it wouldn't change them but after 3 weeks or however long it took to break down their defences they came out of it a much better person and alot signed up for the army. Whether they stick to their better side or let themselves fall back into drugs and crime we shall have to wait and see.

Yes all delinquents should do it, but not for law abiding youths.
