Who cares?
In today's media a high proportion of interaction and feedback is now commonplace - to the point where there're constant reminders of 'what do you think, are you affected by this story? visit http://blahblahblah.ihaveanopinion.com or phone us on 02339290' on news items. But I sit through these thinking 'well yes, I suppose I do have an opinion, but who am I to go to the effort of making it public knowledge?' It's really just a political twitter. Stop tweeting, you tweets. edit - i'm aware of the irony of posting this on a public messaging board.

Newspapers and TV channels do this so they can get more publicity and attention to there media. This forum is different because you can post in free will and not be asked to post on here like the media does.
