I don't think he will have been hired, There would have been something about it in the papers, considering they write scripts 6 months in advance and film 6/8 weeks, they wouldn't have kept it that long

Former Hollyoaks star Ricky Whittle set tongues wagging yesterday when he walked off the set of Coronation Street with Weatherfield actor Michael Le Vell.

Fans and photographers at the gate immediately presumed that he was there for an audition, having recently finished filming with Channel 4's teen soap.

However, I can confirm that he was there for a photoshoot with the 'Allstars' football team he plays for, of which Le Vell - Kevin Webster in the soap - is a member.

Other team mates include Alan Halsall (Tyrone Dobbs), Andy Whyment (Kirk Sutherland) and Ralf Little.
