Default Large delivery suspiciously near to the house

Was at Tesco in Borehamwood today, which as anyone who's local will know; is metres from the house itself. I've been to BB evictions and the perimeter of the garden is accessible from about 3 meters away to absolutely anyone who walks to the back of the car park.

At the back entrance to Elstree Studios, about 5 metres from the BB garden there was a rather big delivery lorry, backed in to the gates. And before you ask, no, it wasn't a Tesco lorry.

Suspicious much? I wreckon it's furniture or some other supplies

I dont even know if you're being serious or not, but I know for a fact it wasn't anything to do with tesco because it was reversed into Elstree Studio's back entrance, as i said And you couldn't possibly know what time of day I was referring to

Whilst Tescos do have a fleet of delivery vehicles, they actually use contracted hauliers to deliver most of their stock, plus couriers also deliver to all Tesco stores, Suppliers to Tesco like Walkers the crisp manufacturer also send their produce in contracted fleet hauliers. Lorries are allocated delivery times , consequently if they arrive before their allocated time they will find somewhere convenient to park up and await their delivery/pick up time.

The Elstree studios also have other work ongoing other than BB. so its also possible that the delivery if in fact it was to the studios, for another TV program or movie.

It is also possible that the delivery was for the BB house.

I dont suppose you got any other details other than the fact it was a big Lorry. Was it articulated, did you notice any logo's etc on it? When you say big, what size does that mean, larger than a courier van?

An important detail to watch for in future is behind the cab of the lorry and on the body of the load compartment was there any boxes or fairings as opposed to being just square, if there are boxes attached or a fairing this would indicate a cooler or freezer unit, this would indicate perishable stock and not furniture.

It was NOT delivering to Tesco, neither was it parked aimlessly, as i already said; it was reversed partly through the Studio's entrance just meters from the BB house garden.

It didn't have a freezer or cooler thing on the top, and no it wasn't a huge delivery lorry, it was more like a medium courier lorry.

Anyone who has been to an eviction will know that it would be pretty pointless delivering to other productions/stages at the studios from this location because from here there is no further wide access, and there is just the BB garden, small BBBM and BBLB studio, and further on the car park.

There is a dedicated deliveries entrance at the front of the studios, where there is also a wide passage road which runs directly past each of the other stages, but access to the BB house from the front is restricted, therefore most, if not all of the BB deliveries are highly likely made through the back gate of the studios.

I've labled the back entrance where this lorry was. You can also see the Tesco delivery road running back past the rear of the store going toward the top left of the image. So a lorry reversed partly into the studios - i doubt-is delivering to tesco The gate is usually shut anyway

As I said in the other thread, that map is wrong and lacking in a few places.

The threadmaker has made fair points. I've never been to an eviction or on bbbm but I have been inside the house before and I entered through the back. Everyone who came thereafter came the same way and I assume we all left the same route; through the camera run linked to what we now know as the diary room. The back of the house and back of the whole elstree compound is the least conspicuous area of the whole plot, I thought. If they are delivering furnishings, top secret bits and bobs then it is completely plausible that they would have done it this way!

This of course is all speculative but there is a logical thought process behind it so you never know!

If it isnt currently stocked in your local store, try Tesco online, have it delivered, A clearly marked Tesco van will drop it off at your address, either front or back door matters not to them.

Nothing to do with the big conspiracy theory here but I just thought it was cool to see the BB house in context,
and,
for some reason it seems less magical knowing its behind a Tescos.

Yeah. I mean the eye-witness makes sense and you have to figure its most likely BB related.
Not to say its impossible someone unloaded 'through' the BB gates something unrelated to the BB house itself,
but,
Sure, the most likely guess is that they were loading the place with.. furniture, renovations, equipment... some good stuff for the upcoming season!

The OP might know but I just have to assume that back area has some kind of security going on during the season?
Or even road blocks of some kind or what happens down there during showtime?

Actually it's possible for anyone to walk up from the Tesco car park to the Studio's perimeter, right up to the gate in question. From the gate you can see the BB house around 10-15 metres ahead of you

Although the gate is pretty tame they keep it shut most of the time, and there are security cabins dotted around the perimeter of the house

So the house is metres away from a tesco carpark?! I'm suprised the HM's don't hear people shouting things to them more often!
I assumed it was well out of the way somewhere, and that people would have to literally break through a fasinity to even get the chance to shout anything to the house LOL

i have been in the house and i went in the front way and left the front way but there were toilets near the loading bay by the side of the garden coz we couldnt use the ones in the house. i have been on bblb i was a contestant on there last june and july for the quiz of the decade i loved it it was great i won the first heat when eugene was on there and he was the one i guessed correctly, and i went on bbbm in 2006. for proof of my time in the house and on bblb my facebook name is david john hathaway and my pic of me in the diary room is my profile pic and for my vids go on youtube and type in hathaway1987.

the eviction theme cant be heard by the housemates its only for the viewers but they can hear the countdown.

i am gutted that i couldnt audition for the last series but i have been to previous auditions and in the house, launch, evictions and finale and on bblb and bbbm so really i have has my big brother experience and i loved it. god it sounds like i am bosting but im not . . . well maybe a little xx

Yeah I am also surprised and in a way I almost wish I did not know the garden (which we imagine as this magical telly world) is just parked beside the back corner of a Tescos where I now imagine the assistant manager of bakery corner having a smoke and while teens loiter about, plastic bags blowing around and just the most mundane things... all right outside the back wall.

It also makes me wonder how many people, maybe new to the area or visiting etc.. how many have been unwittingly walking past the BB house and never even knew what it was or that they were standing there just outside the garden.. .maybe even hearing a row break out.. but never realised where it was coming from.. they were too busy trying to get home in time to watch BB aha.

I have to say that years ago they filmed a big Hollywood movie in a neighbours house about 12 houses down from us. Amazingly, almost nobody noticed.
Some said later they just thought the people must have been moving or something.. they saw a truck backed up.. really nothing remarkable happened. Yet somehow there were big actors, crews and a year later a movie with a lot of crazy action and special effects came out.
If you saw the film you would have believed our neighbourhood was so very interesting and that house was some amazing unique center of attention and there was some special exciting atmosphere around it all.

What I don't like though.. knowing the location (in both these examples) sort of takes away my 'suspension of disbelief' heh.
I want to make-believe I'm seeing some surreal landscape in its own unique 'world' somewhere not like mine.
