I dreamt last night that one of my friends was moving back to Canada, and I was really upset about it. The wierd thing is that in real life he isn't from Canada, he's from New Zealand, but yesterday, my boyfriend and I were talking about having a holiday in Canada, so that's probably where that came from.

Quite often I've dreamt that all my teeth are falling out - it's quite a common dream apparently, and it's supposed to mean something, but I don't buy into all that analyzing dreams stuff.

My dreams are usually rather gory, with people having their eyes gouged out, etc. I kid you not. I also dream about falling, which is a fairly common dream, apparently.
I actually dreamed about coming on this forum once, I think my subconscious was trying to tell me I'm on here too much!

If you dream about teeth then:

Teeth can represent your bite, effectiveness or power in life. They may represent biting remarks, hurtful words. They are your ability to 'chew' over things, meaning to consider and think about, almost to get a taste or try to experience what you are considering.

Woman swallowing teeth: The throat and Eustachian tubes are like uterus and fallopian tubes, so can depict conception or fear of it. In ancient cultures, a tooth was extracted and swallowed as part of a death and rebirth symbol. This may have arisen from the observation of losing ones child teeth and the growth of new teeth, suggesting the power of renewal.

Bad tooth: A painful or rotten part of your feelings, life or relationships; angry or regretful words.

False teeth: Lies told; false face; not keeping spoken promises; the ageing process and loss of good looks.

Spitting out lots of teeth: Something you want to 'spit out' in the sense of admitting, saying, or expressing emotionally.

Teeth falling out: Often a sense of loss, such as death of family member or loved one; the ageing process as it relates to maturity, so worries about getting older and one's changing image. When our first teeth fall out at around seven, it is probably our initial experience of losing something from our body, something weird happening - we might even fear other bits of us could drop off or out.

If single tooth: This may suggest loss, change, or death of someone.

Tooth being pulled out: Jung felt this dream represents giving birth if dreamt by a woman. In general it probably has associations with loss or painful loss.

Toothless: Loss of effectiveness; feelings about ageing.

Actually reading that makes me think that there might be something in this dream analysis after all!

Interesting info, thanks Kizwiz!

Dreams are just the subconscious storing memories. It is analagous to when the bank shuts. After that the real work begins as all the various checks are collected and colated to go through the banking clearing process.

To ascribe any meaning to this is pointless.

I used to dream alot about being in the software product and the software tools we used when I worked as a programmer, only because I was using them all day.

No hidden meaning whatso ever.

This business about interpreting dreams today is just a feeding ground for the modern equivalent of the old fashioned snake oil salesperson.

I once had a dream that my cousin would crash and seriously hurt herself, i actually seen the crash and the damage to the car.

Next morning i tell my mom i dreamt about it, thinking nothing of it. Anyway, a week later we get a phonecall that my cousin had been involved in a head on crash with another car, exactly how i seen it in my dream! My mom and sister were shocked that i could come up with such a thing.

I've come up with a few other things when i was younger aswell.

I do believe sometimes you can dream something you are about to encounter, it's the same thing as knowing exactly whats happening and exactly what the person is going to say to you one day. Some people blame it on deja-vu, i highly doubt it.

I have very vivid dreams which I usually totally forget within about two seconds of waking up.

I used to have dreams about being on train journeys - a dream analyst would probably say that had something to do with your future plans etc, although it may just be because I travelled on trains a lot.

But I tend to agree with what Sticks said, although does anyone remember an Equinox C4 documentary from a few years ago where they supposedly showed how someone could telepathically influence the dream of another person sleeping in the same room by thinking about a certain subject.

I remember they said they were able to project images from a Dali painting into the dream.

I think, like a lot of people, that my dreams are quite strange and senseless. We were doing something in school though, it's not a dream but more a visualisation. It was very interesting actually and it tells you a lot about yourself. I suppose it's the same for dreams...

I often find I dream about things that are on my mind or stuff happening in my life - sometimes the outcome I'd like to see from a situation or the scenario I fear the worst is played out in my dreams and on occasion, it does come true. Although I find the worst case scenario doesn't always happen.

Ah! This might seem a bit weird but I can remember at least two to three dreams a night. My record is eight,. Well I dream about everything,. Generally minor things that happened during the day.
