We had set's for everything but a lot were just to tie in with other subjects. I think I was in set 2/3 for most things.

Ah right, at my school we do things differently. For what I call first and second year *I think that's what you other people call 8th and 9th year* only Maths and English were set, then in third year *which I'm in, and I think is year 10* it's all set unless not enough people picked that subject, in which case there's only one class.

First Year, out of 3 sets: Set 2 for Maths, Set 1 for English.
Second Year, out of three sets: 2 for maths, 1 for english.
Third Year out of nine sets: 7 for maths, 2 for english.

Rather alarming drop there, going from set 2/3 to 7/9 in maths... But I really honestly think I'm too good for the group I'm in, but the teacher I had last year *whom I hate with a burning passion and vice versa, no holds barred and it's not hidden either...* is the set above, so I don't really want to move up... >_>

I mean everyone else in my class was getting 10/20 in the homework, I managed 17/20, and the previous homework I got 24/24 in! So I'm kinda P/O'd at my Maths teacher of last year, because he marked the tests, he hates me but knew he couldn't set me in the wrong set, but didn't want to teach me, so I get put in set 7... It makes sense to me!!!

Irish educational system is way different to what you have in the UK.

But I do higher level everything, which gets quite difficult at times, but I manage.

At present, for my Leaving Cert., which is the equivalent of your A-levels, I'm studying: Irish, English, Maths, French, Geography, Accounting and Physics, all at higher level.

I was in the top set for just about everything. In Maths, I was moved about a bit between the top and second sets in Years 9 and 10, before being permanently in the top set.

Ugh, honours Irish is sooo hard. We've got to like read a whole novel. I can barely read an English novel, never mind an Irish one.

And like 3 A4 pages on racism in Irish...ah hello!
