Is it just me or does anyone else think that this years BB is boring, bb2 I was totally addicted to 24/7 I cannot get to grips with this years they all seem to be back stabbing, or boring people I have only warmed to one which is Alex. I have tried watching E4 but it is like watching paint dry, Last years contestants were so different they all had a personality of their own. This lot seem to be trying to copy all the other years and dont have their own personalities

Nope it's not just you, I'm finding it pretty boring as well. Considering that this time lasy year I was well into it, theirs not long to go, and I don't really care. It's true that really it's all been done before it's going to be hard for anyone following to be seen as really genuine and not a copy cat.

Hi monie
![]() I think you only have to read a lot of the posts that have been posted on here over the last month or so to see that you are not alone in thinking this. Last year I got hooked on BB from day one and, as you say, was addicted 24/7. I found this years really hard to get into and agree completely that there are no real characters and the people aren't that interesting. I must admit that I am quite into it now, but nothing like last year. I'm following it, but in a much more detached way, watching and quite enjoying it but without being attached to any of the housemates. Last year I really cared who won - I so wanted Helen to win ![]() ![]() ![]() |

My dear LEE, for once we are in accord!
![]() I hate to say it but I really am not bothered who wins, who gets evicted and who becomes famous afterwards! I find the housemates to be below average on the interesting aspect, and I actually forgot how long there was to go until I was told recently that we're in week 7! I'm still enjoying watching to a degree, there are funny bits and BBLB is always interesting to watch, so all is not lost. I just wish there were more good bits than bad, but never mind, hopefully BB4 will be as good as last year! |

Hello Monie, nice to see you!!
I do agree, I think it's a pale shadow of last year. However, millions of people do not agree with me! I heard Tim say on last nights programme that he thought the men were stronger characters this year, and that's why they outnumber the women as survivors thus far ....................... ![]() ![]() Per-leeeease! |

I watched the Big Brother 2 video last night and I loved it - watching Paul and Helen and Brian again and there is no way nothing will ever beat it, I dont think you will find a romance like the one created between Paul and Helen and someone as funny as Brian. I was obsessed with it and still am!
![]() However, it hasnt stopped me loving this years Big Brother. It is entirely different and that whats I like about it - it sets BB2 in a completely different league. I think it has been quite exciting, what with Sandy leaving and Sunita, and surprise boot outs like Spencer and Alison. And a bit of romance with Adele/Lee and Kate/Spencer. And Alex who I find hilarious. I have enjoyed this years Big Brother thoroughly and still will be sad to see it go cos it is such a regular thing for me, watching the main shows and e4. Im already excited about next series!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I think that we've already dtermined that I'm a died in the wool cynic, but I prefer BB3 to BB2.
<Flamebait> I'm sorry, but I found the whole Paul / Helen thing last year the biggest yawn ever. It was pure Mills & Boon - the big romance between Mr Tedious and Miss Gormless. </Flamebait> The one thing that couldn't be beaten last year was the larger than life event that was Brian. I think that generally this year the producers have picked much stronger characters and consequently there has been more 'real life' interaction in the house. ![]() |

Sorry jog
![]() I don’t actually think that any of the characters, apart from possibly Alex, are interesting and I certainly wouldn’t call them ‘strong’. They have a much ‘younger, brasher’ feel to last years and are so obviously all wannabes – despite denying it hotly. I have got into it more now, but I honestly think that if I hadn’t been helping to run this site I would have given up at about the end of week 2 – I was so turned off by it all. Also, sorry, but I’m a HUGE Paul and Helen fan as well, it really made the series for me last year. I didn’t dislike Brian, and he was a worthy winner, but it certainly wasn’t him I watched it for. Anyway, I guess we have to agree to disagree on this as not everybody has the same tastes, but I would only rate BB3 at about 4/10 whereas last years would have got at least 11. ![]() ![]() |

I think this year's has been the worst of the three. I really enjoyed BB1 for it's novelty value, and, not forgetting, how 'Nasty Nick' got his just desserts. I thought there were some really strong characters and I especially liked Anna, who I thought had a very dry sense of humour.
I loved BB2 the most. I thought the mix of people and ages was great - the characters were really strong and I really warmed to the HM's as a whole. I think the thing that differentiates this year's from previous years is that I'm finding it hard to summon up the enthusiasm to CARE about any of them. I watch with a sort of bemused detachment, and I really can't get enthused enough to be bothered about who stays and who goes. I think the HM's with the most potential for providing us with something to talk about have gone - Spencer and Alison. I'm saddened that a programme I absolutely HAD to watch, come what may, has now turned into a sort of 'for old times sake' type of viewing. I think the BB producers tried to change what was a winning format to make it pacier, more 21st century, etc, etc and took the very life out of it. BB is, by definition, a character driven show. Once the bars were up those 'characters' were severely inhibited in their interaction with each other and therefore no real alliances have been formed, no bonding has happened and each has been in their own little bubble, with occasional forays into someone else's personal space. Sorry for the long diatribe - Is BB3 boring? - sadly, for me, it is. |

Yeah, but it cant be boring if we are all still coming on this board, talking about the housemates and its events?
It is having some impact on us, surely. ![]() |

Very true WILDCHILD2K2. It's not boring it's just different.
It looks as though tonight is going to be less than boring to the fellas as they are all drinking and playing some sort of "strip" game and the girls are not winning. If Jade takes off another Item BB will be taken off air and Kate isn't far behind. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Of course I must disagree. Your view is similar to those expressed by everyone who thought the relationship was a sham. It wasn't a sham, and it evidently still isn't a sham. It was the most sweet, poignant and real thing I have ever seen on television. I knew it was love blossoming when I first saw it, because I can still remember that feeling. Wonder, warmth and happiness, 110% alive! It was long ago for me, but I was 20 again as I saw it developing unmistakeably on the screen right in front of me! The staring into each others eyes was so touching. They couldn't stay apart, no matter how they tried. Enthralling! WONDERFUL! What I loved about it was the lack of tackiness, the helpless and progressive attraction they both felt for each other, Helen's refreshing 'go for it' honesty, and Paul's respect for and protection of her. As for the 'tedious and gormless' labels - unkind and uncalled for I think. Paul was under tremendous pressure, week after week. He stayed calm and pleasant, but he was guarded. I know he had a couple of outbursts under pressure, but he was essentially a sweet natured guy. Look at the effect successive nominations have had on Jonny this year. Always underestimated I think. Helen would have been rightly labelled 'gormless' if she had sat staring emptily into space. She didn't. She was lively, effervescent and entertaining. Everything she did was spontaneous and guileless. I don't think she is at all unintelligent, that's why she sparkles so! She is uneducated, inexperienced and has been sheltered. There is a difference. Brian was entertaining, and I don't think he's a bad chap, but Paul and Helen made it for me. I knew they wouldn't equal it this year, becuse it was a unique situation, hardly likely to be repeated. I don't hate BB3 as much as I did. The characters are not stronger, but they do benefit from not having a damp squib like Elizabeth and her (rather nice but collusive) side kick Dean looking down their noses at all the fun and incessantly complaining about the decibel levels. This lot didn't take mum and dad in with them. Weird Uncle Sandy perhaps, but he went of his own accord. The disadvantages this year have been, of course, the meddling. Watching people in extraordinary situations interact is always fascinating. They jostle for position, make alliances, break them, and manipulate others overtly and covertly. That in itself is enough. This time they have changed the dynamics so often that it has been traumatic for them and us. I think the last 3 weeks will be the best of this series, and I hope they now leave them to get on with it. Still, not a patch on BB2 though. |

BB3 is definitely different to BB2.
The theme of BB1 was "anal". Get Caggy out because she seems to be enjoying herself. Keep nominating Craig because he has a working-class Northern accent and is therefore a philistine. I was so glad when Craig won, but apart from that I didn't care too much. BB2 threw up some very entertaining characters. Paul and Helen falling for each other. Brian's humour, alone, or in conjuction with Narinder and Bubble. Dean's understated (and sometimes not so understated) humour. And don't forget mad, mad Penny! BB3 is different because the environment is different. There are no team-oriented tasks, we have had the divide, and bitching has been encouraged. Still, we have had a few worthwhile characters. Alison, she may have gone out early but we will be seeing a lot of her, a very funny lady. Sophie, unable to integrate into the group, until her last week in the house when it was too late, then we really took to her. Jonny the clown, so superficial, until we saw how deeply he was hurting when he found that some didn't like him. Kate, who came into her own when others, i.e., Sophie and Jonny, really needed her. Jade who combines extremely annoying, extremely bitchy with extremely funny, like her or not, we'll remember her for ages. Not as many good characters as BB2, but more than BB1, so give them a chance. |

Oldgit - I agree with a lot of you have said.
I cant understand how people say this series has been boring - I dont think it has in the slightest and I look forward to every show - not as much as last year but it doesnt mean I dont like it. A lot of people have accused this years housemates as wannabes but I would say no to that and even though I was a huge fan of last years show, I would say there were more people wanting to be famous then than this year - there was Dean, Amma, Narinder, Brian, Penny whereas there are very few this year, or so obvious ones maybe. It is nowhere near as good as BB2 and nothin ever will be, for me but I am really enjoying this years series and I just wish everyone else would - my school year are addicted to it, everyone in my family is, I think it is hugely popular. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I read on here that your an EastEnders fan, maybe it's because you like EastEnders. It reminds me so much of EastEnders with screaming Jade, the bitching the backbiting the rows. The getting legless, the violent playfight's. I'm trying really hard to think of the fun times, but can't I'm afraid. I can't stand EastEnders, or any of the soaps. This year just reminds me of one awful soap opera. Sorry I know it's negative but there you go.

Im not gonna lie - I do like the bitching and the gettin drunk - for me it is entertainment - I dont like the bullying like with Sophie but theres nothing better than watching a good gossip.
I did like the fact that Adele had no idea how she was coming across on the outside, I like it when they have no idea about the outside world - obviously I dont like them to be hated or booed but it is interesting to find out their reaction to how they have been portrayed. I do like Eastenders and Big Brothers format is very much like a soap, it is also a documentary (real life, real events, intereaction with strangers), a gameshow (obviously there is a prize & has audience involvement) and a soap cause there is romance, fighting etc. But I dont like Big Brother cos it is like a soap; the last two series have been like soaps and everyone here seemed pretty much obsessed by them. I just love the eviction nights, Davina, the nominations, interaction, romance - I just bascially like the format of Big Brother and I think despite bad characters, or poorly edited shows, Big Brother is always gonna get people talking, there is no other show like it and will always be popular!! I bet every1 who says, 'I might not even bother watching it next year' WILL!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

It did take me a little longer to get involved in BB this year than previous years (hence why I'm so late in joining the message boards). For the first couple of weeks of BB, I was away on holiday, and it took me awhile to get into it after that, and get to know everyone. I tend to enjoy it more towards the end anyway when there are only a few people left in the house. Although there were things I haven't liked about this year's BB (such as the bars....it was interesting for the first week, but when it lasted longer it was getting old fast), and I do think BB is no where near as tough as they have been in the previous 2. They don't seem to have as many tasks, and what tasks they are given are not all that challenging.
I have to admit I love the bitching and the fighting, just as much as I like seeing them get along. I guess I am morbid that way. As much as I didn't like the way Adele was treating Jonny and that she was bitching about everyone, I did find it entertaining. However, I would not want someone like that winning BB so I was not upset when she was evicted. I would like to see Kate win because 1) it would be nice to see a girl win 2) she has been the least bitchy and 2 faced, and tries to get on with everyone and just seems to be most friendly overall 3) she sacrificed her place on the rich side to try to get the bars down 4) I just think she is an all around lovely person 5) she is funny and entertaining. She has her faults yes, but so does everyone in that house. So does everyone one of us out here. I just think she deserves to win, although I wouldn't be upset if Jonny or Alex won. If Kate at least ends up in the last 3, I will be happy. Jade has been entertaining, you have to give her credit for that. She may be annoying and thick at times, but she has been entertaining I think to the majority of people. PJ has been ok, although I didn't find him very entertaining and found the way he has treated Jade (especially after their night together) rather distasteful. I don't think he's brought all that much to the house. Tim has not been entertaining even in the slightest. All he's done is anger me by his arrogance, whinging and treatment of the other housemates, especially Kate. He seems self centred, selfish and lazy. He seems to think he's so much better than everyone else, and he's clearly not. I want him out of the house because I do not like what Tim brings out in me, which is an intense dislike for someone I don't even know personally ~ which doesn't normally happen. He just represents the kind of person I do not like. Money is a great thing to have, but what good is it when you have that money but you don't have an ounce of class, and are not a genuinely nice person? Money can't make you a good person. Let's face it, BB is never going to please everyone all the time. While one person thinks the show is crap, the next person will think it's great. It's just never going to appeal to everyone at the same time. It does seem like there is a lot of people saying how boring it is this year, but I wonder why these people are even watching it if they think it's so boring and they don't care who wins and who's evicted. Just seems like a waste of time if that is how some feel. It must be holding their interest in some way if they continue to watch it. I think it could be better, but it could have been a whole lot worse. |

The reason I contiune to watch ?, I liked BB1, loved BB2, and still hope this one will get better, I've made myself stick with it because I love BB but my viewing has changed, I don't stay up half the night watching it on E4, I have live stream on this computer and never use it, gr......... waste of money, I still love BBLB, so I watch and tape that, mostly it's the C4 shows at 10pm that I watch now, such a dissapointment
