Nah, its similar to what they do on DS, every week a new poll is created so you can vote who is your (least) favourite that week to see if there is a shift of the housemates.

You could say thats the point of the polls on the frontpage but it allows you to discuss it in a thread + see who votes who.

I dont know who created week 1's.
