The moments when we have actually seen him on screen, he's been trying to raise the moral of the housemates, supporting them during tasks and raising morale during the difficult moments...particually with Mario.

He had his few funny comments when he found food in the pool but other than that.. he is pretty pointless. Once he has gone the housemates will argue even more because the "chef" has gone.
