Default Conways admit: \"It was our time to go\"

The Conway Sisters have criticised Simon Cowell's treatment of them, but admit that it was "our time to go."

They said that even before voting them out of the X Factor, the music boss was unable to help them progress.

"He didn't really know what to do with us as a band. He was completely lost," explained Marie. "It was a relief to him that we decided to choose our own songs

She said the band were upset to have left the programme, but added: "We've been in the bottom two for the past few weeks and we weren't getting a huge amount of support from our mentor. We felt it was our week to go."

Nicholas had great potential but, its weird, he just never seemed to find the "energy" to push through, for want of better words. I suppose he just never found top gear

The Conways are wrong - it was their time to go after boot camp. And they should stop blaming Simon for everything - they weren't good enough and they lasted longer than they should have.

They (G4) were consitently awful throughout the series. Brookstain had the ability to sing in tune, but it began and ended there.

I think it was time for the Conways to go, but really most of all to save their sanity. They have been through a lot over the last few weeks and as their mentor I dont think Simon showed them the support they needed. As someone said on the programme he literally gave up on them. But then Simon is only OK with people who agree with him. Fell out with Steve B because he didnt want to sing cover versions. I feel sorry for anyone who has Simon as a mentor because he has too many fingers in too many pies to give his whole attention as obviously do Sharon and Louis.

It is not fair on the winner to be put under Simon's influence. He will be off soon to do the next American Idol and cant be in two places at once.

Though I dont think either Sharon or Louis would vote off one of their acts however bad they were. Simon chose them so the Conways were entitled to expect his support.

Actually, I thought Simon's reasoning was absolutely valid - they couldn't win the contest. They had been through that sing-off process every week, and it really was well past their time to go.

Dear God I hope Chico can't win either, but after Maria went, nothing would surprise me.

Sorry, but Nicholas was not a strong singer. He just didn't have the ooomph.

As for voting off your own group, well, unless the mentor is banned from voting, at some stage they will all have to do it.

The only real travesty of the competition was Louis voting off Maria.

Stopping a blip like Maria polling low and being at risk was exactly what the judges veto was introduced for. I am sure people just assumed she would be totally safe.

The Conways were well average.

Anyway, they are back on the circuit supporting Westlife again.
Sadly maria doesn't have that sort of opportunity to fall back on.

Excellent post. I agree with all of that, other than the part about brookstain. I think the problem there was more because of his attitude problem than anything else. It got him into trouble before, during and after XF last year. After he'd started several petty arguments (which quickly became rather nasty) on his own website, the writing really was on the wall for him. Not that there ever was much of a future for a 'soul' singer with no soul in the first place, of course.
