I just think that he behaved in a way that he doesn't like others behaving in-rude and agressive, but decided it was ok because he [obviously] was in the right.

I can't remember Shabby making anyone cry. I think how Dave explained it to BB in the diary room showed a lot more respect for Shabby; he didn't agree with how she'd acted but he was more more reserved and still able to get his pint across.
