Ooo Mark Lemar is taking a year off Buzzcocks, I used to think he was funny but now he just seems like a prat.

Ooh, I'll be looking forward to the return of The Apprentice - it was brilliant last year! Gets those brain cells working hehe!

It's a bit of an oldie, but I always enjoy watching murder mystery whodunnit's like Poirot, so I'll be looking out for that too!

What's on this year...

Quote:
TV In 2006

With a fairly lacklustre festive season of TV, it's time to get excited by some of the new stuff starting in 2006.

Top of the list have to be the new series of Desperate Housewives and The OC, but there's also Project Catwalk, Celebrity Big Brother, Doctor Who, costume drama The Virgin Queen and Cilla's latest project, Soapstar Superstar.

Think it's time to order a big, comfy sofa...

January

Desperate Housewives Series 2, Channel 4/ E4
Lynette's at work, leaving Tom to mind the kids. Bree buries Rex and has to contend with his mother. Edie dates Susan's ex-husband and new neighbour Betty has a rather large skeleton that's about to come out of her closet.

Celebrity Big Brother, Channel 4/ E4
Thought to be lighting up the house this time round are Anna Nicole Smith, Boy George, Gillian McKeith, Most Haunted's Derek Acorah, Johnny Vegas and Jimmy and Lisa Tarbuck.

Soapstar Superstar

Project Catwalk, Sky One
Liz Hurley is the mistress of ceremonies as Project Catwalk challenges aspiring fashion designers to earn their big break in January. Julien Macdonald, Ben de Lisi, Erin O'Connor, Frost French and Patrick Cox will all lend their expertise. A shortlist of 12 designers will face weekly challenges, until three finalists are chosen. Each will showcase their full line on the catwalk at London Fashion Week in February, and the winning designer's work will appear in Elle magazine. A parallel competition offers models the chance to become the designer's muses.

Project Catwalk

Prison Break, Five
Stateside hit Prison Break comes to UK TV early in 2006. Wentworth Miller (Golden Globe nominated for the role) breaks into prison to stop his brother being executed for a crime he didn't commit. His ex-girlfriend, played by Robin Tunney, assists.

Prison Break

Doctor Who, BBC1
So we hear that Rose and the trendy new trainer-wearing Doc get it on when David Tennant makes his proper debut on Christmas Day. A 13-part series, in which the Cybermen, K9 and seventies assistant Sarah Jane Smith return, follows the Christmas special.

Bones, Sky One
David 'Angel' Boreanaz teams up with anthropologist Dr Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel), in a kind of Waking The Dead meets X Files, to read clues in the bones of victims too badly burned, decomposed or destroyed to be recognisable. Edgy, with great chemistry between Boreanaz and Deschanel.

Close To Home, Living TV
Hot-shot lawyer Jennifer Finnigan has her first baby and struggles trying to balance a heavy-duty workload at court with sorting out her breast pump.

Doctor Who

The OC Series 3, Channel 4/ E4
Marissa is forced to leave Harbor School in the aftermath of shooting Trey, who's been in a coma ever since. Julie leaves rehab but refuses to come home, instead moving in with new friend Charlotte, another patient at the clinic.

Soapstar Superstar, ITV1
Cilla Black makes her comeback as a judge on a new talent show where soap stars try to prove they can sing. Soapstar Superstar hits our screens early in the New Year. Dubbed Celebrity Fame Academy meets X Factor, this is Cilla's first presenting role since she quit Blind Date - and it's rumoured she'll be singing too, surprise, surprise!

Close To Home

She'll rate 10 actors: ex-Enders Nicholas Bailey (Dr Trueman) and Michael Greco (Beppe); Corrie's Richard Fleeshman (Craig Harris), Shobna Gulati (Sunita), Wendi Peters (Cilla Battersby) and Andy Whyment (Kirk Sutherland); Emmerdale's Roxanne Pallett (Jo Stiles), Lucy Pargeter (Chastity) and Sammy Winward (Katie Sugden); and Hollyoaks' Lee Otway (Bombhead).

The Virgin Queen, BBC1
Anne-Marie Duff (Shameless) plays Elizabeth I from young girl to titanic monarch in a full-on BBC costume drama. Can't wait.

Battlestar Galactica Series 2, Sky One
In last season's cliffhanger ending, Commander Adama was left fighting for his life after being shot by Boomer, a Cyclon clone. Now in Series Two, he returns to duty a changed man, as civil war looks to be inevitable. Some familiar characters are killed off, others are uncovered as Cyclons and Lucy 'Xena' Lawless joins the cast.

The OC

Morning Glory, Channel 4
Dermot O'Leary is the face of this new breakfast show, Channel 4's fresh stab at the format after the demise of RI:SE.

Marple, ITV1
Four new specials - Sleeping Murder, The Moving Finger, The Mirror Crack'd and At Bertram's Hotel. Dawn French, Martin Kemp, Sarah Parish and Joanna Lumley will be in the first on 28th Jan, Sleeping Murder. Kelly Brook will star in The Moving Finger and David Soul and Stephanie Beacham are expected to appear in The Mirror Crack'd.

Invasion, Channel 4/ E4
The rather cute Eddie Cibrian discovers that a hurricane has blown away his small town - and blown aliens in instead.

Over There, Sky One
A gritty and authentic drama of America's troops in Iraq, it explores the lives of soldiers on their first combat tour, from the front line to the families left behind.

The Virgin Queen

The Apprentice Series 2, BBC2/ BBC3
Hurrah, stern yet cuddly Alan Sugar is back. The Apprentice will be on from January with a new spin-off, The Apprentice - You're Fired, straight after on BBC3. There'll also be one-off specials - Tim's Story, on last year's winner, and The Apprentice - You're Hired, about this series' winner.

24 Series 5, Sky One
To the world he's dead, but soon he'll become the most wanted man alive. Jack Bauer's back for a fifth season, 18 months after foiling a nuclear attack on the US. Having faked his own death to escape the Chinese authorities he's living a new life with Diane and her son, Derek when national security is once again seriously breached?

My Name Is Earl

Just The Two Of Us, BBC1
Tony Christie will star in a singing version of Strictly Come Dancing. Celebs will be teamed with a famous singer and the pair will have a week to learn a duet before performing on a Saturday night. The celebs include Tony, ex-Blue star Lee Ryan, former England manager Terry Venables, Frank Skinner and Corrie star Bradley Walsh.

Joey Series 2 - Five
Joey returns for a second series with a new friend Zach Miguel Nunez and agent, Bobbie (Jennifer Coolidge of Clueless fame). Michael (Paulo Costanzo) and Gina (Drea de Matteo) also return.

Boston Legal Series 2, Living TV
There's an office reshuffle at Crane, Pool & Schmidt which brings fresh blood in the form of Heather Locklear and Rupert Everett. Can't wait.

Lost

Paul McKenna Can Make You Thin, Sky One
This Christmas you can eat what you want, guilt-free. From January the weight's coming off and Britain will become a thinner nation.

Hotel Babylon, BBC1
Billed as a "tantalising and seductive insight into the sexy world of a luxury five-star hotel", Tamzin Outhwaite and Max Beesley should make an interesting pairing in this drama.

My Name Is Earl, Channel 4
Very funny comedy starring a Golden Globe-nominated Jason Lee as a nitwit crook who decides to atone for every sin he's committed (all 258 of them).

REST OF THE YEAR

March 2006

The Oscars, Sky One
Will it be a night of gay cowboys? Will Brokeback Mountain triumph or could King Kong give it a good run? Watch the action live from early Monday 6, with a highlights package in the evening.

Hell's Kitchen Series 3, ITV1
Having dumped Gordon Ramsay, bosses obviously decided there were too many chefs so Gary Rhodes is out for the third series, leaving the yummy Jean-Christophe Novelli manning the stove alone. And the celebs are BACK after a series of plebs cooking - contenders being looked at include Faria Alam and Bobby Davro.

Summer 2006

Big Brother 7, Channel 4/ E4
Speaking for ourselves we're getting pretty tired of BB but who knows, maybe this year it'll be revitalised. Expect it to fill the summer weeks as usual.

Autumn 2006

Extras Series 2, BBC2
Daniel Radcliffe, Tom Cruise and even Madonna are being touted for parts in the new series of Ricky Gervais' most excellent Extras. Shame we have no clue when it's going to be on yet!

Lost Series 2, Channel 4/ E4
We really don't know much about when Series 2 is on other than it's 'late 2006'. There are plenty of spoilers online but we're not going to ruin your fun by printing them here either. So you really are lost until series two...

Holby City, BBC1
Patsy Kensit is thought to have taken a pay cut to join the London-based hospital drama from October from t'Dales, where her role as superbitch Sadie King took the soap to No.2. Holby City said: "Her character will come into the show as a nurse who has more than a few secrets to hide and an attitude that cannot fail to ruffle the feathers of her colleagues."

I'm A Celebrity? Get Me Out Of Here! No.6, ITV1
This show goes from strength to strength. Who's going to be eating kangaroo testicles this year?
http://www.sky.com/showbiz/article/0...206141,00.html

Good to see The Apprentice back soon, thought the first series was great. I liked the Christmas Doctor Who also.
