Swimming in the same ocean, somebody help me out, please?

I didn't understand what Steve and Josie were going on about him swimming in the same ocean as her. What did it mean?

Sorry, don't watch anything other than the HL and it wasn't clear (and before you heap scorn on me for not watching LF think of me as a barometer of how Joe public is likely to be thinking

)
