Default 10 Questions for the BB Producers

As much as I hate to be in agreement with The Sun, I think they have summed up nicely what most of us would like to ask the BB Producers this year.

I'm another who hates to agree with the Sun but this time they have got it right. Biggest problem as far as I am concerned was that they didnt get the mix of housemates right. Too many young twenty somethings; all of them wannabees.

I think the absence of tasks right from the start, which kept the housemates from bonding, was the main thing that stopped me from enjoying BB as much this year.

Then there were those awful bars.

Not to mention the lack of music. Remember Spencer's happy, smiling face when he got to play the guitar that one time?

I also agree that the people were not the right "mix". Far too many "strong" characters. No-one wanting to take on the role of "Dad" or "Mum" meant lots of noisy, rowdy children, I'm afraid.

I could go on and on.

I wonder if the producers will listen.

I beg to differ. There is never a 'right' or 'wrong' mix of people; the unpredictablity of their relationships is what makes Big Brother so strong.

It was the bars that prevented the same roles as last year being formed. Rather than trying to work together and form a unit, the housemates faught against each other, decreasing the cohesiveness of the group. The tasks are supposed to increase interaction and bond the group, not divide it.

I agree with both Miriam and Charlie.

The mix of housemates this year was not good and I think that even if the bars had not gone up we wouldn't have seen much positive interaction.

However I do think that the bars coming down was a big negative event for the series and made what little positive interaction there might have been virtually impossible. I also agree that the nature of the tasks this year made for conflict not unity, the housemates have been working against each other not with each other.

3 questions for The Sun

1 - Do you think it is clever vilifying a young immature girl?

2 - Do you think it is funny calling her a pig?

3 - Do you think it was accurate journalism calling the original 12 the flirty dozen and speculating on them having sex on TV?

I'm sure we can make it 10 if a few others chip in. Then tenth question can be:

10 - Don't you think you ought to put your own house in order before you slag off everyone else?

I never thought I'd agree with the Sun but the questions are what we've been asking on this forum all the while. I think they were fair and valid questions, there have been cock ups and so called too many wanabies in there. I know it's the Sun but the people who produce bb might just take notice of there views more than our's I'm afraid.

I'm sorry but i have to disagree,

The bars in my eyes were not a failure - they made the housemates interact more and the inner feelings were revealed.
Plus viewing figures have gone through the roof!

It must be soo hard picking contestants to go on as you cannever tell how someone will act in that enviroment till they are in there!
And i relate back to something i previously said and that is last years contestants were soo good and it was very lucky! this years was always going to be crap in our eyes as there will never be another brian and helen!

Sadly - I agree with most of their questions. Typically, the Sun went with the 'we'd like to see some sex on the show'. Well, I wouldn't. What sort of viewers does the Sun think BB has? I'm not a little miffed that they think this is "what most of the BB fans have been waiting for". I haven't.

Apart from that I think the rest of their comments were quite valid. I hated the bars. I thought they brought nothing of value to the show and prevented the housemates interacting or bonding. They set housemate against housemate rather than joining them together as a group and letting the group dynamic form the basis of relationships.

Let's hope the producers take note and don't try the same tactic (or tic-tac as Jade would say!) next year.

The views of a columnist (which is what Mohen is) are not necessarily indicitive of the views of the publication. "The Sun" would not speak out too much against the show due to it's "official Big Brother newspaper" status.
