CRYING SHAME
Jodie weeps at Barrymore's offensive rant
By Cameron Robertson

9 January 2006

HEARTLESS Michael Barrymore made Jodie Marsh cry yesterday after telling her she was a bully and only interested in talking about herself.

The row came after Barrymore, 53, and housemate George Galloway, 51, sang golden oldies which Jodie, 27, didn't know.

Barrymore asked her: "Have you ever listened to yourself on tape?" and added: "Are you happy with yourself?"

Then he hit out: "If you're not talking about your life, you shut down."

Shocked Jodie hit back: "It's just that when you lot sing all of the old songs I don't know any of them so I can't join in."

She said his attack was "offensive" and argued: "I talk about a lots of things".

But Barrymore accused her of acting "like a bully" and "sounding very angry".

She replied: "I'm really offended. I don't bully at all. I genuinely get on with everyone I meet. It's just in this house there are some people who have been difficult."

E4 cut the sound during its live coverage as Jodie burst into tears towards the end of their fight. She explained she was low because it was the third anniversary of best friend Kim Banyard's murder. She said: "I'm like this because I know this date is coming up."

Kim's lover Jonathan Dore was jailed for life after strangling her in a custody battle over their 10-week-old son Jake.

A worried TV insider said: "Jodie could completely fall to pieces. This is an extremely hard time for her and Barrymore's not helping.

"It was an extremely traumatic moment when her best friend was murdered and today's anniversary will bring it all back. "

Bitchy Barrymore had told Jodie during their 2am row: "Unless you're talking about what you want in your life or what you hate, you're not really interested."

Glamour model Jodie stood her ground saying: "No, I think that's unfair and insulting."

Barrymore was still implying Jodie was empty-headed in the afternoon. He told Pete Burns, 46: "I couldn't say I don't like her. But I'm cringing. If she doesn't want to be perceived as the ***** of Babylon, she'd better start thinking."

Meanwhile fake Chantelle Houghton, 22, was nearly unmasked when Dennis Rodman, 48, spotted her swotting up the lyrics before singing her "hit" for the challenge.

And Preston, 23, said in the diary room: "I was really suspicious. Lots of things didn't add up. I thought you'd put her in here to pretend to be a celebrity. But I'm over that now."

The housemates were last night asked to vote on who is the least famous. If Chantelle survives, her true identity will be revealed.

BIG BROTHER FAKER IS 'OUTED'
'Star' unmasked after being forced to sing
By Lee-Ann Fullerton

9 January 2006

BIG BROTHER last night unmasked Chantelle Houghton as a fake celebrity.

The 10 other housemates were told the 22-year-old's first taste of fame came when she stepped into the house.

The revelation came after the Essex girl spent three days trying to convince the rest of the gang she was a singer in imaginary girl band Kandy Floss.

BB gave her the mission on Thursday night - telling her she would get the boot if she failed.

And last night - after the housemates were asked to list themselves in order of celebrity importance - producers showed them diary room footage of Chantelle.

Chantelle faced eviction if she came last.

Earlier, they had been given 90 seconds to demonstrate why they were successful.

Chantelle - who can't sing - was forced to perform her fake band's "hit" single, I Want It Right.

Her stuttering rendition and bad dancing led to embarrassed looks, with Dennis Rodman covering up a laugh.

At one point, she even forgot the words to the song, penned by Big Brother.

A gallant George Galloway spared her blushes by saying: "Very good Chantelle, I'll buy it."

Later, Jodie Marsh told Ordinary Boys singer Samuel Preston she doubted Chantelle was a real celebrity but no one confronted her about her lack of singing talent.

Sven Goran Eriksson's former lover Faria Alam was told to speak for 90 seconds about why she was famous - but couldn't manage to fill it.

Lads mag model Jodie was given the same task and began with: "The reason I'm famous is because I'ma little bit mental."

Rula Lenska delivered a monologue from Macbeth, while Michael Barrymore performed a series of impersonations.

Pete Burns sang his biggest hit You Spin Me Right Round.

Meanwhile, Jodie has revealed how she gained revenge on an ex.

She giggled as she told Faria how she put her boyfriend's dirty laundry in a bin bag and left it outside so everyone could see how filthy he was.

Faria revealed she had peed in an old flame's tea to get her own back on him. She said: "Have you ever p****d in someone's tea? I did - of a boyfriend who I didn't like."

Chantelle asked if she watched him drink it and Faria grinned and replied: "Yeah, that was the best part."

Jodie and Rula also eased some of their tension with some Buddhist chanting.

Rula told the housemates: "We all have a Buddhist god within us, we just have to tap into it. If you chant positive things, the universe has a way of paying you back in a positive way."

As the girls tried think good thoughts, Pete spent bitched about Jodi to Barrymore.

Pete said: "She goes on about people saying she's got saggy t**s and that she's fat.

"If that's the case, would you go up there, wearing two belts, when they hang out all over the place?

With cut-off jeans that are too small, p***ed and slurring your words?

"She says she needs intellectual stimulation like food but I think she's either thick as pig s***, needs help or it's calculated to inflict guilt - 'Oh my dog died. I burnt the toast. People say my boobs are saggy.'"

Barrymore agreed with the former Dead Or Alive singer. He said: "I couldn't say I don't like her. But I'mcringeing.

"If she doesn't want to be perceived as the w* * *e of Babylon, she'd better start thinking."

Barrymore remains the favourite to win the show at 2-1.

Goldie Lookin' Chain rapper Maggot is his closest rival at 3-1.

Coral bookmakers spokesman David Stevens said: "In our opinion, Barrymore has been the best backed housemate because punters do at least know who he is, unlike some of the other so-called celebrities."

Faria Alam is the 40-1 outsider to win the show, and is hot favourite to be evicted first.

Tough day for Jodie

9 January 2006

CELEBRITY Big Brother housemate Jodie Marsh faces a stressful day in the house on the third anniversary of her best friend's death, her parents have revealed.
Viewers have already seen the tearful model claiming that the only thing that is keeping her in the Big Brother house is her family and friends.

Her mother, Kristina, and father, John, said they expect the 27-year-old Essex girl to shed further tears before she "comes into her own".

Marsh's friend Kim Banyard was strangled and battered with a hammer on her 22nd birthday by her 21-year-old painter and decorator boyfriend Jonathan Dore, who was later jailed for life in November 2003.

Mrs Marsh told GMTV they had mixed emotions watching their daughter on the show and fear she will find it hard to cope on Day Five.

She said: "She is going through a bit of a traumatic time.

Death

"Today is the anniversary of her best friend's death.

"She was murdered three years ago and it always affects Jodie so today I think she will be quite emotional and quite tearful."

Mr Marsh added: "She's very emotional and stressed at the moment but after today I think, hopefully, she will start to get back to her normal self.

"We have enjoyed watching most of it so far and hopefully after today she will start to come into her own."

The glamour model was the centre of attention in the house after she showed both her spiritual and argumentative sides.

She spent her first Sunday in the reality show taking part in Buddhist chanting with actress Rula Lenska, then arguing with Pete Burns over his fur coat.

The spat began when the '80s singer said he was outraged at Marsh boasting about the revenge she had wreaked on a former boyfriend - by literally airing his dirty underwear in public - in her autobiography.

Monkey

The glamour model replied: "Well, I think it's low that you wear a monkey coat, It offends me every time I see it on your back."

Burns, 46, hit back, saying: "That thrills me. I get off on the fact that my coat offends someone who put her boyfriend's dirty underwear in a book."

When Marsh said a trip to the butcher's left her with the impression of "dead bodies everywhere, I see it as murder", Respect MP George Galloway, 51, joined in.

"Should Eskimos wear fur? They live in the frozen north and there's nothing they can wear except animal skin. They're not murderers," he said.

Earlier actress and Buddhist Lenska spent time chanting and was joined by the glamour model who quickly picked up the complicated rhythmic words.

Lenska, 57, sat in the corner of the living space and rang a bell several times before she began. She was joined by Marsh, American actress Traci Bingham, 37, and Faria Alam, 39 - famous for her fling with England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson - who all watched.

FURY AT FUHRER
Barrymore hits a new low with Hitler imitation
By Cameron Robertson

9 January 2006

HEARTLESS Michael Barrymore shocked TV viewers last night with a "comedy" impersonation of Adolf Hitler.

The shamed entertainer chose the imitation of the hated Third Reich leader when Big Brother asked contestants to "give a performance based on what he was best known for in the outside world".

Even host Davina McCall warned viewers they might want to turn away and housemates looked uneasy as Barrymore told them: "We'd like to take you back 40 years ago when the first Big Brother was on air and it was shown in Germany."

He turned away from the camera to grease down his hair and draw a moustache with boot polish. Pete Burns, Jodie Marsh, Preston and Dennis Rodman clearly didn't know what to make of it as Barrymore tried to squeeze out laughs with over the top gestures and Nazi salutes.

A TV insider said: "It was totally bizarre." what a weird choice for a comedy act."

Barrymore has already been rapped by BB bosses for gouging the eyes out of a picture of the Queen.

He also made Jodie Marsh cry yesterday after accusing her of being a bully who was only interested in talking about herself. He told her: "If you're not talking about your life, you shut down."

Shocked Jodie branded his attack "offensive" and argued: "I talk about a lots of things".

Before bursting into tears, she added: "I don't bully." She said she was low because it was the third anniversary of best friend Kim Banyard Kim was strangled and bludgeoned in 2003 on her 22nd birthday by boyfriend Jonathan Dore. The couple's baby, Jake, was then only 10 weeks old.

Dore, who strangled Kim at home in Pitsea, Essex, was jailed for life.

A TV insider said: "It is an extremely hard time for Jodie. The anniversary will bring it all back. She could completely fall to pieces."

Big Brother Burns: All fur coat and no knickers

9 January 2006

Celebrity Big Brother contestant Pete Burns could face jail over his “gorilla-skin” coat, a British government minister warned today.

The Dead Or Alive star claims his fur coat is made from the endangered animals.

Now the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs has stepped in to say Burns may face “serious consequences” if this turns out to be true.

Trading in endangered species carries a penalty of up to five years in prison and an unlimited fine.

Biodiversity Minister Jim Knight said: “Gorilla skins belong on gorillas, not on reality TV show contestants. Gorillas are critically endangered, and any promotion of gorilla products in this country can only put these amazing creatures in further peril.

“If this is in fact a gorilla skin, there may be serious consequences.

“Any gorilla skin acquired after June 1947 would require an exemption permit, which would be highly unlikely to be granted. Equally, any gorilla skins or other products brought into this country require an import permit.”

The coat has already sparked a furious row with fellow housemate Jodie Marsh.

When surgically-enhanced singer Burns said he was offended by Marsh’s autobiography, in which she spilled details about her ex-boyfriends, the glamour girl retorted: “Well, I think it’s low that you wear a monkey coat. It offends me every time I see it on your back.”

Burns hit back: “That thrills me. I get off on the fact that my coat offends someone who put her boyfriend’s dirty underwear in a book. I’m thrilled.

“I wish I had a sable coat and a chinchilla dressing gown and every other fur I could lay my hands on.”

I'm no expert, but Pete's coat looks more like Colobus monkey pelts than a gorilla's...

How pathetic.

Firstly Jodie Marsh bringing out a sob story to cover for an arguement, to make her look the victim. I mean come on, it takes two to tango and she was argueing aswell! And furthermore, what barrymore said was 80% true, regardless about who died. You don't see barrymore having an arguement and then sobbing about his lover that died!

Secondly, any prat can tell you pete's coat is not gorilla and what's it got to do with the government? Imprisoning someone for wearing a coat? What next? Arresting you for peeing on the seat?

Pathetic.

Galloway reality TV move defended

9 January 2006

The Respect coalition - which George Galloway MP represents - has hit back at criticism over his stay in TV's Celebrity Big Brother household.

Accusations that constituents were unable to get help with local issues were unfounded, said his spokesman.

Mr Galloway says he believes his decision to take part in the Channel 4 programme is good for politics.

His spokesman said although there had not been much politics talked, he was "coming across as a human being".

Mr Galloway, MP for Bethnal Green and Bow has joined celebrities such as former game show host Michael Barrymore, Faria Alam, who had an affair with England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson, US basketball star Dennis Rodman and model Jodie Marsh.

"George's constituency office continues to run as it has always done - the office is open five days a week and seven days a week by phone," the spokesman said.

Mr Galloway has said his presence in the house is a way of getting his message across to millions of people who might not otherwise be interested in politics.

But a group calling themselves the United Residents of Bethnal Green and Bow have set up a website headed: "Contestant George Galloway MP - Why Isn't He At Work?"

His spokesman said Mr Galloway was there to represent the "wider issues" of his constituents and that the outspoken MP wanted to "exploit new and different avenues" for these.

Unless Mr Galloway walks out of the reality television programme early, he will miss a debate in Parliament about the Crossrail project, the new trainline which will affect many of his constituents.

His spokesman said Mr Galloway had already spoken in the Commons on the second reading Crossrail bill, although he admitted: "It would be nice if was there."

'Demonise'

He said Mr Galloway was keen to travel around the country to get his views and those of his supporters known rather than "hanging around in Parliament" where often votes are already decided, he added.

"It is his hope that Big Brother would provide the kind of platform that the media does not normally provide for him," he told the BBC News website.

"He is coming across as a human being, while the press have tried to demonise him in the past."

"But I have not seen much political discussion so far," he added.

Talkshow host Michael Barrymore is the bookies favourite to win the show, with Mr Galloway being given odds 10/1.
