Default Young vs old

I feel all the young 'celebs' in the house have no respect for the old. They don't like to take advice, and swearing at them is totally unacceptable.

Not surprised to hear a recent case about a pair of twins burgled and killed their gran. That's the society we are in today.

Possibly so, but Pete and Michael don't respect Jodie....

I think you earn respect, it's not a given right to have respect because of age. I certainly don't ask for respect from 16 year olds just because i'm nearly twice their age, you earn it, what exactly have the older members done to earn respect, apart from befriending Saddam, having a murder at your house, sleeping with the England football boss and having lips like Leslie Ashe?

I agree all should respect each other, but the older members seem to have as little respect for the younger ones as well.

The older you get the more experience you get in life. You can only give advice if you've experienced enough. And in showbiz terms,Pete and Michael have these experience.

True, but the first thing I would say is "So you had someone killed at your house and you injected drugs into your face, why would I want to take advice from you?"

Rula giving advice maybe, George maybe, Pete and Michael, not a hope!

It doesn't mean the person is a murderer if someone died in your house. He would have been locked up now if he's guilty.
Michael's been to rehab many times, and has helped him a great deal. All the press are treating him as though he's a monster, exagerating a lot of things about him.
I reckon the British Press are the worst in the world.Once you're famous, they'll find a way to 'get' you. So,Chantelle, look out.

I just don't think Michael is the right man to give advice, have you seen him?

You can't give advice before you sort yourself out, Michael, Pete and Jodie are all in the same boat, they need to sort themselves out first.

If they came into my office, they'd be a great challenge!

Respect is a 2 way street. You do have to earn respect, regardless of age. But you also have to show some consideration for others. I don't think it's fair to say the young HMs aren't showing respect. Some of the older ones are also guilty of it.

Totally agree with you Stropz. I'm not a fan of Jodie to say the least but what have Pete and Barrymore done to deserve respect from her? They are the older members of the group but are very immature in their approach at times.

I don't know about leading

There are 6 of us, based in London, my wife and myself and 4 others. Until October, we worked for the government, but now have our own 'clinic'

I only take up to 35 year olds, and the most severe cases (Sometimes violent/aggressive etc) as i'm a very big bloke and I can handle them.

I'm also very frank with them, if I think they're talking rubbish or I think they'll be dead in 6 months the way they are, I tell them, in no uncertain terms. It works quite well, because they don't expect it at first, and if I had some of those in the house, i'd make sure they didn't speak when I was talking

I wanna be a psychiatrist or a social worker when I'm older. Always have wanted to... Not that you'd care or anyone but dealing with people like that seems like a good thing to be doing... good on ya

Very rewarding, but you need to be able to laugh off abuse and not let it affect you.

I know, it's just a bit of major bickering which has been perceived as sick bullying.... she's taking it all to heart.

Sensitive girl.

She should realise she's lucky, she could look like Pete

My opinion on this is age does not matter respect should be a 2 way thing just because you are older than someone doesn't give you the right for respect you have to earn it the same way as everyone else, and ppl bang on about respecting the elders but what about the elders especting young ppl i'm not just talking about BB i'm also talking about in general.I have had ppl looking down their noses at me just because i am 26 i think it's disgusting we are no different to older ppl just because we are younger.
Infact the older ppl are the ones that start the arguements sometimes at the younger ppl then blame the younger ppl for not respecting them this is my opinion on the subject.

I think Pete telling Rula to 'Go Away' but more rudely, showed he has no respect for anyone, and has no intention of having any.

I couldn't believe he said that to Rula she deserves to be respected in my opinion. It shows what a nice person she is though because she hasn't made a big deal out of it, shes talking to Pete with no problem again.

From the areas I grew up in, Jodie would be considered well mannered.

I lived in really rough areas growing up, with gun and gang cultures. I assure you, in comparison, Jodie is a princess.
