Tim and Alex (and Adele and Alex before them) moaned about how Jonny is so superficial, and they want more intellectual conversation. If Tim goes, Alex will have nobody to speak intelligently with about important things.
Well if Alex and Tim want to talk about important, intelligent things why don't they make a start now? All I have ever seen them do is gossip, bitch, moan, whinge, criticize and carp. Or is that what they mean by intelligent conversation? |

If Alex, Tim or Adele ever come to this, or any of the Big Brother message boards, they will find they have been the subject of much more gossiping, bitching, moaning, whinging, criticising and carping than they have ever dished out.

Touché!
HOWEVER I think most of us on this site make intelligent points from time to time, though in my own case probably not consistently... But the point I originally made needs to be illustrated better: Is there anyone at your job who does very little work all day because they are too busy talking about others who they say do very little work? I used to work with people like that and they annoy me because they think very highly of themselves and fail to see the irony in what they are saying. Well that's the point: I am saying that Tim and Alex don't have intelligent conversations because they are too busy bemoaning others for not having intelligent conversations. Is that clearer? |

I don't think that Tim has an issue with the level of Jonny's conversation. Tim has said on many occasions that he finds Jonny a likeable guy when he's chatting to him normally.
Tim's problem with Jonny is that Tim thinks the games Jonny organises for the group, to stop them being bored, are an act and also juvenile. Unfortunately for Tim, the antics can make the programme more entertaining to the viewers, and anyone who tries to put a stop to them is seen as a wet blanket. I can empathise with Tim about this because I know if I was in the Big Brother house, I'd probably think the same way. And I don't find it much fun to watch on TV either. Maybe this makes me a spoilsport also, but when I saw everyone messing around with the water slide, I thought, why doesn't Big Brother just go the whole hog and give them a bouncy castle? And I think there's little that is more boring than watching a collection of drunks falling around either. There was a message on E4 interactive, when they were all plastered one night, that said something like: 'just a reminder that you're watching a group of adults, not teenagers after their first sips of shandy' When Tim said in the diary room that the behaviour of Jonny, Kate and Jade couldn't make them popular with the public, he may have had in mind the early eviction of Alison, and the reasons for it. He might have thought that he could gain popularity by playing an 'anti-messing around' card. Of course, if true, then it's backfired on him badly. Tim is not alone, amongst the housemates, when he voices the opinion that it's one big pantomine in there. A caller in the phone-in on BBLB asked PJ and Spencer if they agreed that Jonny was putting on an act for the cameras. Spencer agreed although PJ didn't. And I think Alex's problem at the moment is just that he keeps losing friends. Sandy left and then Adele was voted out to a great deal of booing. Now he know's that Tim is unpopular outside the house. |
